About
Belmont Fish and Chips is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Belmont community in New South Wales, with a solid four-plus star reputation built across a healthy number of reviews. Open for both lunch and dinner, it covers all the bases with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options, making it convenient for a quick weeknight meal or a relaxed sit-down feed.
The menu does the classics justice. Battered fish fillets are a clear highlight, consistently noted for their light, crispy batter and soft, juicy flesh inside. Calamari is another strong point, with thick, well-crumbed rings that draw real praise from regulars. The chips arrive hot and not overly oily, and the kitchen’s grilled options, including barramundi, offer something for those after a lighter meal. Burgers round out the menu nicely, with the cheeseburger in particular coming up as good value.
The shop is casual and counter-service style, no table service, but the staff are friendly and orders come out quickly. Free parking and full wheelchair accessibility make it easy to visit, and there is a kids’ menu available, so families are well catered for. The shop accepts card and mobile payments, keeping the experience straightforward.
For anyone around Belmont looking for fresh, generous fish and chips without fuss, this one is worth checking out. Phone ahead during the dinner rush if you are ordering for the whole family.

It did taste nice but I don’t know why. The works burger had lettuce, just and tomato and pineapple. The meat Pattie was mostly hamburger helper maybe it was those very cheap sausage meat crumbed rissoles from woollies????? Very thin too. Not much meat on this burger.
Chips nice. I guess Asian operated Fish and chips Have great batter and fryer food but not burgers we are accustomed to.
Easily the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Ordered the family dinner and a few burgers which was great value. Chips were nice and crispy and the calamari was beautifully crumbed. Cheeseburgers are really yum too. Workers are really nice and generous with the portions which is a bonus. Always busy for a reason and will definitely be popping by more often!
The prawns, fish, and calamari all tasted the same — there was no distinct flavor in any of the dishes. The service was also disappointing. Even though there was a minimum order of $65, they still charged an extra $1 for a tiny sauce and additional small items. For that price, I expected better quality and a more professional approach.
Best fish and chips in the area!! Decided to order a grilled barramundi pack today… the fish and chips were cooked to perfection and the salad was very fresh too. Food was served hot and not too oily unlike other places I’ve been to. 10/10 service and great value
Its a takeaway so its not a place you go for atmosphere so dont count that one, the service was great and the food came quick and was good quality, good battered fish, thick large calamari rings and nice chips, get some and sit down near the lake for sunset, just what you want.
Friendly staff. Battered fish fillets were so juicy and soft with lovely light and crispy batter. Calamari was also fantastic, my partner reckons the best they’ve ever had. About $16 each for more food than we needed.
Could this be the best fish and chips near me in Belmont?
Well, as far as portions go it’s a yes. 5 star.
Price, yes 5 star, two people full for $25.
Speed, yes 5 star as no more than a 10 minute wait at lunchtime.
Quality, yes 5 star as very little grease, beautiful crunch to calamari and a light texture crunch to the grilled barra. An additional plus was it had enough chicken salt for flavour and didn’t taste like an oxo!
BEST SERVICE and GREAT FOOD
We got an Uber delivery slightly wrong and the owner came and fixed it up him self in 10 mins in peak weekend lunch period… food was awesome, also got a burger that was 10/10 and an old school banana fritter (also 10/10)
