About
Eats on the Creek is a casual fish and chip shop in Dora Creek, New South Wales, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor spots face the adjacent creek, making it a relaxed spot for families, groups, and visitors passing through the area. Free parking is available on-street and in the adjoining lot, and card and mobile payments are accepted.
The fish and chips here have earned a solid four-plus star reputation across well over three hundred reviews, and the kitchen’s attention to fresh oil and quality batter comes through clearly. Regulars note the batter is light and far from greasy, with real flavour in every piece. Calamari is a highlight, with a thick cut and panko crumb that has impressed more than a few first-timers. Sweet potato scallops also get a regular mention as something a little different worth trying. The chips are considered good value, with generous serves for the price.
What surprises many visitors is the coffee. Eats on the Creek pulls a notably good iced latte, which is not something typically expected from a suburban fish and chip shop in a small town like Dora Creek. It adds a point of difference for those stopping in for a lunch break or a leisurely sit-down meal.
A kids’ menu is available, making it a practical choice for families. Phone ahead during the dinner rush if you have a larger group.

Small fish and chip shop with a few seats indoors, and a few outdoors facing the adjacent creek. Originally wanted to try the place next door, but as it was closed, decided to eat here instead.
The food was pleasantly surprising. The battered fish was great- batter light and crispy with no greasiness. The calamari was plump and tender. Barramundi burger was also quite good, the beetroot was a welcome addition.
The chicken schnitzel salad wrap is just a bit of lettuce and mayo. Picture on the board is fully loaded. A bit disappointing. But i at it anyway coz i was hungry. Otherwise fine.
Um all I can say is wow! Quality fish & chips, not fatty tasting, lots of fresh flavour. My calamari was so thick, the panko crumb was delicious. My husband had sweet potato scollops & was super pleased.
Bang for your buck that’s for sure.
The staff are friendly & smiley, timely service. Thank you for providing the goods.
Lovely light batter on everything. Very lovely prawn cutlets, best ive ever had! Well cooked chips. Best fish n chips I’ve had in a while as it wasn’t oily or fatty and didn’t leave a residue film inside the mouth.
Only thing letting them down for us visitors was the unfriendly service. We were trying to ask questions about the kind of fish as I’m allergic to most but she kept walking away.
As a barista with 15+ years experience who has worked with some of the best baristas in the world: beautiful iced latte, did not expect to find that in Dora Creek of all places. Highly recommended! Thank you so much!
Called in because the reviews looked good but it’s not even local fish rite next door to a fish market and it’s not local fish, I’m very glad I did not actually organise my friend to drive an hour to meet me for lunch very surprising and disappointing. I did not actually order or eat so this is not a review about their service or quality just letting people know the fish was not even Australian!!!. ☹️
This Fish and Chips here were top tier. It was so good. This place deserves 5 Stars from me.
The only place to go to for fried food. The oil is always fresh and the batter is scrumptious.
