About
Golden Shark Seafood has built a well-deserved reputation as one of Gladesville’s most reliable fish and chip shops, drawing a loyal crowd of locals and visitors alike. The battered fish and chips are the signature here, with the batter described as light, crispy, and perfectly restrained so it complements rather than overwhels the fish. Fresh oil and quality fish are points regulars come back for again and again.
The menu covers solid ground across classic seafood fare. Calamari rings are a firm favourite, and the potato scallops and fish cocktails round out the snacking side of the menu nicely. NZ Cod and grilled fish options sit alongside the battered range, giving the menu a little breadth for those who prefer something lighter. Portions are generous without being excessive, and the value for money comes through strongly across the board.
Golden Shark is open for dine-in and takeaway, welcoming families through the doors for both lunch and dinner service. The shop operates Wednesday through Sunday. Service is known for being quick and efficient, which makes it a practical choice for a midweek feed or a weekend family outing in the Gladesville area.
For anyone hunting down quality fish and chips in Sydney’s inner north, Golden Shark Seafood is a name that keeps coming up. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep things moving.

Top notch local fish and chips spot, the fish was amazing super light and crispy batter that holds it together just enough and falls apart at the bite. Great chips and the calamari rings are not to be missed!
“Sharkies” first day back trading after the new year break. I couldn’t miss this opportunity for the best fish and chips around. Golden Shark Seafood in Gladesville is a must for locals, and anyone looking for a top quality seafood meal, with a range of freshly made salads. I keep my order simple. Battered flathead and chips with extra salt and vinegar. Is that my cardiologist texting me again? C’mon, I walk at least 7km for this, so give me a break. Check the portion size! Who gives you that much fish? Fantastic crispy batter. It really is too much for one person. I really should offer to pay more to get less. Extremely generous.

It’s a convenient local fish and chip shop for seafood lover! The service is rough, and waiting time can be long but the taste is good! The fish cocktail is my favourite, I would recommend thisshop.
Bloody good fish and chips.
Fresh fish, nice portions with a perfect batter that is crispy but not dominating.
And most important … the oil is fresh.
A take away institution for locals, keep up the great work.
Warrants a 5 Star rating but it’s little things that hold them back from being perfect. Whatever price list you look at, it’s wrong. Second, if you’re ordering pick-up, don’t believe the time they tell you. The family business that runs Golden Shark have been there for a few years and have their rhythm. The fish cocktails are excellent, and the crumbed calamari are usually brilliant. Chips are always good and taste fresh. If you’re ordering fish fillets, sometimes they’re excellent and sometimes not so good. Even so, I reckon this is the best F&C shop North side of the Gladesville Bridge
I’ve lived in the area for 20+ years and can’t believe I’ve never had food from here. The batter is elite level. Super fresh and obviously made in house. No feezer ready seafood dropped in a deep fryer.
My advice, order the onion rings, they are some of the best I’ve had in Sydney. Skip the burgers, they’re fine, but their scallops, seafood sticks, calamari etc are where they really shine
So glad to have found this absolute gem. Old school quality fish n chips. Fish is delicious and the chips take me back to my childhood. The salad is clearly cut fresh everyday and the serves are generous.
