About
East Bank Fish n Chips is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Jamisontown, sitting alongside the Nepean River and conveniently close to the M4. The menu covers the classics done well, with battered fish and chips drawing plenty of praise for fresh fish, light non-oily batter, and genuinely crispy chips. Seafood specials, scallops served with salad, and cocktail fish and chips round out the seafood side of things, while halloumi burgers and salads give non-seafood eaters something to look forward to.
Gluten-free options are a genuine highlight here. Coeliac diners can order gluten-free battered fish and chips with confidence, making this one of the more accessible fish and chip spots in the Penrith area for those with dietary requirements. Families are well catered for too, with a kids’ menu that includes a chicken nuggets and chips meal complete with an activity pack, a small detail that goes a long way on a family outing.
The venue offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery across lunch and dinner service. Outdoor seating with parasols is available, dogs are welcome outside, and there is free parking on site. The space is wheelchair accessible, and table service means you can sit back and relax rather than juggle trays. Staff are regularly singled out for their cheerful, attentive service.
Phone ahead during busier periods, as wait times can extend when the dining room is full.

I took my 5yr old for lunch.
I ordered Gluten Free Battered Fish & Chips and my son ordered a Kids Chicken Nuggets & Chips meal, which came with an activity pack that kept him amused while we waited for our food (it wasn’t a long wait).
The fish was delicious and the GF batter was crunchy, crispy and salty, yum! The GF chips were also really good and it was a huge portion! My son really enjoyed the kids meal and that was a big portion too, we ended up taking half of the food home to eat later 👌
It was nice to sit outside, under cover and enjoy our meal.
We’re looking forward to going back soon, and after trying some of mine, my son has said next time he will be ordering fish too.
Great food, nice portions and excellent service (Laura was fantastic). We had the cocktail fish and chips and the scallops, the latter of which came with a nice salad also. Plenty of outdoor seating with lots of parasols, perfect for a bite rain or shine!
Nestled beside the mighty Nepean River not far off the M4 is this great eat-in or dine out restaurant. Rarely do you get such service from cheerful staff like Georgia. Thank you for looking after us tonight. I’ll be back…. 😎
Amazing food! I highly recommend their battered fish and chips. It’s not oily. The fish was fresh, and the chips were extremely crispy!!
Absolutely loved my experience at Eastbank Fish n Chips! The seafood was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the chips were golden and just the right amount of salty. You can tell they really care about quality here. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick even during a busy period. Bonus points for the beautiful view—makes the whole meal even better. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend to anyone craving great fish and chips in Sydney!
We’ve been coming here after our river walks and have always had a good experience. On a busy weekend there might be a bit of a wait but otherwise service is great and staff are friendly. Their seafood salad and octopus salad are so delicious and their portions are quite generous. I usually get half each. We love their açaí bowl with pistachio sauce. We get the large and it’s seriously huge and very satisfying. Good value for money.
I do find their deep fried fish in the fish burger a bit too greasy, good chips though.
I absolutely LOVE the gluten free fish n chips here!!! I’ve always had a good experience with the staff, who understand very clearly the requirements of coeliac people. A true gem of the Penrith area!
We got take away to eat by the river. Fish n chips, mixed grill and a seafood salad.
Portions were generous, the batter crunchy and diversity in the grill options.
Polite and easy service. Ticked all the boxes.
