Small chip shop with a simple menu. Nothing fancy about the interior.
Simple food: fish is fine, chips were average. Calamari was good. Potato scallops also good. Price was average.
People serving were nice and food was produced quickly. They are also open 5 days a week – when many other places aren’t.
The best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Fish was deliciously crumbed and crunchy, white moist flakes of fish. Chips were crispy and perfectly salted. Will definitely order again when next in Ulladulla.
Ps to all the reviews that comment negatively about the pricing, you know the price before you order, and usually you pay for what you get, which is bloody fantastic fresh fish n chips!
Highly recommend!
There I was scooping around Ulladulla – Mollymook on an overcast, coolish day trying hard to enjoy a drop of rain but, more eagerly, fish and chip! And there it was, and I craved for my lunchtime. Fine fish, chippy chips, 3x spectacular potato scallops, all incredibly prepared (scallops: obviously “home made”) and presented in a tough cardboard box yum, yum, yum. The batter was magnificently crisp and golden 😋 A slice of lemon and tartare sauce included . Nothing wrong here at all. Staff very friendly and clearly know what they are doing. Seats and tables outside the shop for outdoor eating. My number was 63. No rain came …..
Nothing beats fish and chips by the sea, and what made it even better was the outstanding service. We arrived as a fairly large group just 10 minutes before closing, yet the staff were incredibly accommodating and still took care of us without hesitation. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall.
The service was very friendly and welcoming, however, I needed chips for 9 people, so I ordered 3 regulars on recommendation from the server. Ok, no worries, I thought $40 worth of chips would in fact serve the whole street but I am only going off hot chips I have ordered over the past 30 years from take aways up and down the coast. Well, we just fed our 9, luckily I had ordered potato scallops or it would not have been enough. Truly, an absolute rip off for what was provided. I really feel that these 3 trays should have been overflowing at that price but they weren’t even filled to the top. Pretty disgusting!
The food here deserves a far higher rating than 3.8. Everything tastes super fresh and not greasy at all. Highly rate the battered fish and crumbed calamari.
Look I’m pretty disappointed it just cost me $170 for 3 trays of chips that were probably the worst I’ve had, 7 pieces of fish that was just standard battered fish, 3 battered savs that were literally cut in half so technically 1 and a half battered savs and 2 crab sticks. I get that fish and chips is expensive but for that price and for a coastal tourist town, I’m expecting flat head, full battered savs and maybe a smile from the staff.
The quantity of food for the price is a joke. I ordered the 10 fish cocktails and regular chips which was $46.50. The chips were terrible at best and hardly full and the fish cocktails were the same size as the small tartare sauce packet. So disappointing for the price and will definitely never go back. I do not recommend this place. There are so many better options in the area. It’s
