Legit fish and chippery with a local vibe. It’s great! 11ish bucks for a fish burger plus 4 bucks to make it a works burger, didn’t even need chips it was massive.
My partner got the crumbed hoki which was equally good value at 16.
Only suggestion is the outside planter was a little sad with just plain dirt.
Delicious snack on the go ! Chunky fish bites and chips for a very reasonable price. Crispy chips. 5 big chunks of delicious fish with lovely crispy batter. Lemon included. Nice bench to eat at outside. Friendly service 🤩
Came here on Good Friday for take-out. Busy evening and expected long waits. Staff were amazing as always!!! There were a lot of grumpy folk with expectations higher than they deserve of their social status and skills. Food was brilliant! Fish is fresh and delicious. Hot chips perfect. Amazing fish and chips. The is fish battered to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. The grilled calamari (lemon & pepper) is definitely a must try. They are nicely grilled and still very moist and juicy. Accidentally found this store when I am taking a bus ride to whale watching. A hidden gem indeed. Highly recommended.
Delicious fish and chips. We ordered the fisherman’s basket, which was a very generous serve. The beach is close by and we took our meal to the beach to enjoy. We experienced service with a smile.
Worst Fish and Chips Experience Ever
We ordered online at 6:00pm thinking it would be quicker and easier — big mistake. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food, and we only received it after we complained about the ridiculous wait. During that time, at least 10–15 people who ordered after us (and three Uber Eats drivers) got their meals first. The staff clearly prioritized in-person and delivery orders while completely ignoring online customers.
When we finally got our food, it was cold, soggy, and disappointing.
The chips were under-salted and barely crispy.
The pineapple fritters were soggy and icky.
The loaded beef brisket chips were the biggest letdown — the brisket was dry and the chips were so soggy they were inedible.
The fried Mars bar was ridiculously small.
Almost everything was cold inside and only slightly warm on the outside.
We ordered simple meals expecting a quick, easy dinner before a two-hour drive home after a lovely day on the Gold Coast, but this experience honestly ruined the night.
All four of us agreed this was the worst fish and chips we’ve ever had — from the poor service to the terrible food quality. There are so many areas that need improvement. Bad service. Bad food. Bad experience.
Would not recommend to anyone.
Do NOT order online! Ordered through Uber Eats at 6:17pm. Promised delivery time 6:27 – 6:40 pm. Delivery time changed at least 12 times before it was eventually cancelled by the store (not by deliver driver as stated by Uber app) at 7:53 pm. Wouldn’t even answer their phone. I get that they are busy, I’ve owned a fish and chip shop and even on Good Friday, we could get our orders out in under 40 mins. Goes to show that they ignore their online orders. Should have closed off their ordering if they couldn’t handle it. Very disappointing service. Placed an order with another Broadbeach fish and chippery, arrived on time, early in fact – still hot and crispy! Granted, it was now way past the peak time. Thank you CnC, you now have my business
Best bacon and egg roll on the coast. My wife had the fisherman’s basket and loved it. Big serves and fresh tasty food. No wonder it’s always packed.
