About
Gold Fish Coopers Plains has built a strong reputation as one of the better fish and chip shops in the Coopers Plains area, holding well over four and a half stars across more than a hundred reviews. The menu leans on quality seafood, with crumbed cod and grilled barramundi among the highlights. Snapper and calamari are also firm favourites, and the chips are consistently described as well-cooked, not oily, and seasoned well enough that extra salt is rarely needed.
Portion sizes are generous without cutting corners on freshness, and the pricing is genuinely reasonable. The seafood basket is a popular choice for sharing, and burgers start from around $10 with sauces included in meal prices. Sweet potato chips are available alongside the standard menu, which also stretches to salads, spring rolls, and a kids’ menu, making it a practical spot for families.
The shop is halal-friendly, family-friendly, and offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, with online ordering and kerbside pickup rounding out the options. On busy evenings the venue draws a crowd, and the service is noted for being quick and friendly without letting standards slip. The premises are kept clean and the staff consistently make an impression.

We have been here 3x now and the food have been consistent. We love their seafood basket or the calamari pack. Affordable price, big portions and fresh seafood & chips. We also love their sweet potato chips. No need to add extra salts as the food are salty enough. Wonderful service too, they are friendly people. We hope that they will maintain their food quality, quantity and service.
This is a wonderful find. The burgers are really tasty, the prices are very reasonable and the service is consistently lovely. This was the double burger with egg added. A really delicious burger if you’re looking for a jacked up, old school fish and chip style burger. Highly recommend!
Situated amongst other eateries this fish and chips was the busiest (Sunday evening). Great value: we got the seafood basket for 2 $30. The couples pack is also $30. Decent size but is quality over quantity. Would come back when in the area again. Not a single chip was left over.
Snapper, chips and salad was great. Good portion size, very well priced made fresh and quick.
Ladies serving were lovely also.
OMG Gold Fish is THE best fish and chip shop on the south side!!
I don’t like any seafood at all.. but I’ll eat the fish from here.. so fresh.. crunchy crumb.. batter is done to perfection.. chips are seasoned and taste amazing. Can order online and pick-up when you receive a txt. Staff are so helpful and friendly.. can’t rave enough!!
I’ve ordered a steak burger (with bacon and egg), barrumundi with small chips, and a hamburger at this takeaway. The portions are veey decent and the taste is very good. The price/value ratio is excellent. A burger with the lot is only $10!!
One of the best fish n chips shops in QLD.
I got the $17 crumbed cod w/ salad+chips.
Large portion of fish crumbed well. Not greasy. The chips were great, not oily or soggy and had a lot of chicken salt which I really like.
The fish and chips are not cooked in old oil so they taste fresh.
Tartare and salad sauces INCLUDED in the price! A lot of other places charge extra for this!
Overall great taste, great service and cheaper than a lot of other places. Would highly recommend
I actually tried their fish and chips a while ago. The fish was pretty good but the chips could improve abit. Overall very satisfied.
