Excellent quality ingredients every time we’ve been. Consistently made with a light batter and clean oil. Both the fish and the chips portion sizes are decent. Your typical suburban fish and chip shop menu and decor.
Hasn’t ever seemed too busy, and plenty of parking. We order in store and the staff are always friendly.
(If I had to give feedback about something, it tends to be a little on the oily side for our preferences, but the oil is clean)
Love this place. Fish is fresh, light in batter and crispy. The chips are crunchy with the perfect amount of seasoning and not so greasy. Yum!
We had the calamari rings that were tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside. My son had the chicken burger with the lot, he really enjoyed it and the service is always friendly. We had the choice of getting fish and chips at the strand after a swim but chose to go home and pick up our Fish and chips from here, because it’s so much better.
We live just walking distance so tried it for the second time because the first time they were having a bad cook day I assumed. We ordered burgers with the lot and when we took them home they were cold and still partly frozen just discusting chucked them in the bin. Second time after a year we thought we would try again ordering 2battered mackerel potato cakes and chips.the oil from the fish and potato cakes had not been drained properly all the fish was over cooked and basically just eating oil. We wouldn’t feed it to our dog so went in the bin. Bloody waste of money. These guys have know idea how to cook simple take away. Never again unless they change owners
As a family we ordered fish and chips for Good Friday paid $85 got it home and we were missing 3 outta 5 pieces of fish , had to drive from Burdell to Douglas to pick up the lost fish, there was no apology no nothing , meanwhile everything was cold , open the packaging and it’s so oily , will never ever return to that shop again
Such a nice little family owned fish shop in Douglas do the best chips and will alway just bring it out to your car while your waiting without asking
Greasiest Fish and Chips we’ve ever eaten. Each bite (only managed 3) was leaching out oil. Packaging was covered in the stuff. Threw the lot out. Likely from cooking in cold oil with fryer initially off to save money. Very poor experience.
I called over 30 minutes from closing to order food, and was hung up on because they did not want to take my order. I understand if they don’t have enough time to cook 5 burgers in under 40 minutes, but the service was very poor. Hard to see myself going back after that.
Awesome little takeaway store, I had the calamari burger and it’s was amazing and at a great price.
