About
Roddies Fish & Chips is a casual fish and chip shop serving Warwick and the surrounding Southern Downs region, with dine-in seating, outdoor tables, and easy takeaway for those on the go. Free parking and good wheelchair accessibility make it a practical choice for families and visitors alike.
The menu covers the classic bases well. Battered and crumbed fish are both available, with barramundi a popular choice, and the broader menu extends to calamari, prawn cutlets, potato cakes, and pineapple fritters. A kids’ menu rounds things out for younger diners. Regulars speak warmly of the crispy batter, the chunky calamari rings, and a gravy that gets mentioned more than once as a highlight. Chips cooked in clean oil, crunchy outside and fluffy through the middle, are another consistent point of praise. For a battered barramundi and chips, pricing sits at a reasonable level that keeps families coming back.
That said, feedback across the shop’s solid four-plus star rating is not uniformly glowing. Some visitors report excellent meals and good value, while others have noted the occasional greasy serve or missing item in an order. It is the kind of place where a fresh batch on a busy evening can produce a very good meal, and the best visits leave people genuinely impressed.
Family-friendly seating and a straightforward menu make Roddies a practical stop for fish and chips in Warwick. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times short.

I got the family pack for 4.Good size fish. Nice crispy chips cooked in clean oil. Nice home made potato scollops. Big calamari rings and prawn cutlets and the best gravy I have ever had. The kids packs are great and nicely priced. It’s hard to find a good fish and chips shop these days and this place is doing great under new management.
Great food, great service. Located in a nice spot on a corner in town. Decent selection of fish to choose from, not a long wait for orders to come out. Good value for money, would recommend.
Crumbed Barramundi with medium chips and large side of gravy. Fish was cooked well, fresh and flaky with panko crumbs.
Chips well cooked , crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside.
Gravy was fresh with great consistency and flavour.
Excellent sized serving just right to hit the road again. Definitely will come back next I’m passing through.👍👍
Family meal, battered sav and potato scallop pack, just under $90, ordered two battered fish and two crumbed. All came crumbed. Wasn’t too worried about it.
The guy that dropped the food off was rude and horrible, wasn’t too worried about it.
Fish was cooked ok, however, all other food was burnt, completely soaked with oil and tasted like off seafood. Had to throw about 60% of food in the bin.
I never leave reviews normally, however, this is absolutely disgusting and disappointing to get this from a local business.
What a waste of money, never again.
The best fish, prawn cutlets and chips we have had in a long time, seriously delicious! We will be back for more that’s for sure.👍
Passing through Warwick and needed to grab a late lunch (2pm) on a Sunday so stopped here for a quick bite. Staff was very courteous and our meals came out quickly. My barra (battered) and chips cost a reasonable $14 (Aug 2025 price).
Batter was a little thick, but fish was cooked well. Oil needs to be changed, but that could just be the result of a busy weekend. Oil temp should be adjusted as chips and fish were a bit on the greasy side.
For the price you get good value for what’s served.
We ordered 3xCod and chips @$10 each and 4 rings of Calamari. We were taking it to a friend’s place for lunch. We opened the boxes when we arrived. 3 pieces of Cod, 4 rings of Calamari and no chips. We were very disappointed. We have visited Roddies before and have not had a problem. I trust this does not happen to other people.
Visited Warwick and popped in for lunch, great service and the food was excellent, batter on the fish was great but the stand out was the potato scallops. Definitely recommend
