About
The Crab Pot Woorim is a takeaway and delivery fish and chip shop on Bribie Island, catering to the steady stream of tourists and locals who pass through Woorim. The menu leans on quality fish, and the shop’s chips with chicken salt and gravy have earned a loyal following. Family packs are popular with groups, and the portions on those have impressed more than a few visitors.
The experience here is a mixed one, and that’s worth knowing before you go. On a good run, the food arrives freshly cooked, well-seasoned and satisfying. Regulars speak warmly of the fish selection and the helpful staff, who are particularly appreciated by travellers unfamiliar with the area. On busier days, wait times push toward 25 minutes or more, and some diners have found the chips less than piping hot by the time they reach the table. Pricing sits on the higher side for a casual fish and chips spot in Queensland, so expectations around portions vary.
The shop is wheelchair accessible with free parking nearby, and a kids menu makes it a practical stop for families. Outdoor seating is available for those who want to eat on the spot rather than taking their order away. Delivery is also an option if heading out isn’t on the agenda.
Phone ahead during lunch and dinner hours to avoid the longest waits.

This establishment is truly fantastic, and it is understandably popular during lunchtime hours. I experienced a wait time of approximately 25 minutes before my order was ready for collection. The fish and chips were exceptionally delicious, and the burgers were equally impressive in both quality and flavor.
However, I would like to kindly suggest a review of the pricing. Slightly more reasonable prices would be greatly appreciated, particularly by tourists who often encounter inflated costs elsewhere. Offering fairer pricing could further enhance the already excellent reputation of this venue.
The best part was the lemon,. After being a regular customer for many years. New owners have served up greasy rubbish they the birds won’t eat it.
Ripped off
Ordered a Peri Peri Chicken Burger. They accidentally gave my order to someone else, so I had to wait a while longer. All good. The tomato, lettuce and chicken was really good on the burger. The bun however was chewy and old.
My partner got the chicken poppers. Those are really good!
They should’ve mentioned the potato scallops are as thick as a hockey puck and half as tasty as one. Chips were undercooked as well, it’s a shame as this place used to always be on point.
The photo attached was $24.00. Happy to pay that for fresh and hot food which is proudly advertised on their shop window. Unfortunately our chips were cold and the experience was overall average. No cutlery or napkins offered (I asked for the forks) which I would have thought would have been basic service for a takeaway fish and chips. It’s a case of no competition so you get what you’re served.
Best place to buy some fish and chips.
They have a good selection of quality fish.
An unassuming looking takeaway but lovely food. We had the family pack which was very generous in size. Nice fish and food wasn’t greasy.
Finally someone who actually seasons the chippies!!! The food was very delicious and you get a good amount of food for a pretty good price. Definitely recommend going.
For travellers, the lady in the shop is super helpful giving advice on where to go/sleep in rooftop tent
