About
Andrews Farm Takeaway has built a solid reputation in Andrews Farm, one of Adelaide’s northern suburbs, serving up the kind of old-school fish and chips that regulars keep coming back for. The signature dish, fish, chips and gravy, sums up the approach well: straightforward, satisfying, and done with care. The menu leans into that classic takeaway style while also offering a Chicken Schnitzel Pack, a Large Fish Box, house-made burger patties, and a range of schnitzels and sauces.
The fish is sourced fresh, and the batter is praised for that proper crisp that holds up without leaving things oily. Chips regularly come out crunchy on the outside and soft through the middle, salted just right. For those after something a little more substantial, the hand-made gourmet dishes draw on locally and regionally sourced seafood and produce, which gives the menu a point of difference from your average fish and chip shop.
Families are well catered for, with a kids’ menu on offer and a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance. Takeaway and delivery are both available, making it easy to enjoy a meal without leaving the suburb. Parking is free. Some recent visitors have flagged a discrepancy between online and in-store pricing, so confirm costs before ordering by phone or over the counter. Service experiences can vary, particularly during busy periods.
For anyone in the Andrews Farm area after a reliable, no-fuss fish and chips meal, this one earns its strong following. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to avoid a wait.

Medium chips and gravy $10.70. No salt whatsoever, barely any gravy and the chips were soggy and tasteless. Been going here for 15 years and won’t be going back. oh my. i also want to be reimbursed for the salt I added from home.
ABSOLUTELY RUDE AND SHOCKING SERVICE! my partner went to get our family takeaway after a long day and had the rudest lady that walked away mid taking our order thinking he had finished without even asking if that was everything and was disgustingly rude when finishing the order. An elderly man after him didn’t receive all his order and she handled that with utmost rudeness possible saying he was wrong. When he clearly didn’t have it all.
The patties recipe for the burgers was spicy! You could see the chilli flakes in the burgers, my children couldn’t eat a damn cheeseburger. Something that SHOULDN’T be spicy.
The customer service is an absolute disgrace and she should not be there. The way they handled the complaint was shocking also. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE. Which is disappointing we’ve been going for years and watching it just go down hill sooo bad. I wouldn’t even give this place the 1 star!!
Just had the fish and chips here and honestly, the fish was perfect super crispy batter that cracked with each bite, but the inside was soft and fresh, not oily at all. You can actually taste that the fish is fresh, not frozen. Chips were golden and crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside. Easily one of the best I’ve had in ages
I LOVE andrews farm. This has quickly become mine and my partners go to takeaway shop! The chips are always delicious, perfect amount of salt, crunch and softness. The fish is delicious every single time, the chicken always perfectly cooked and the gravy just has the best best flavor. Definite value for money every single time. Makes me hungry just thinking about it! Can’t go wrong with a pineapple fritter either. So, so good.
Went in about 15 minutes before they closed, just wanted to get a quick and easy dinner chips and gravy and they rolled their Eyes about it acting all pissy, won’t be going back. Service and food Quility needs to be better as the chips we’re Soggy.
very rude, we all walked in 15 minutes before they closed simply just to order some chips and gravy (gravy was already made too) one of the staff rolled her eyes and said “we are closing”.
the chips we got were salted nicely, however not fully cooked. we left around 7:50, still leaving them 10 minutes to complete what they need. they have more than enough staff to close up and still serve as they go.
the only staff member that was nice was a blonde girl who at least shared a conversation with us. thank you to her.
i always come here and wanted to show my friends how good i thought this place was. unfortunately after such a terrible interaction, i will not be going here and i certainly will not recommend it.
BE AWARE. Prices on their website ARE NOT what you will pay in store. Apparently if you order online, you will get the advertised price. If you call up or order in store the prices are different. Just spoke to the lady about my order which cost $3 more, and she said the price you pay online is always going to be different, and in this case more, and they don’t have a menu with prices to give me for price, products or specials.
The chips were really crispy and very soft on the inside and the fish was fresh which was salted perfectly. Definitely would recommend to anyone that wants authentic local fish and chips!!
