About
Daw Park Fish and Chip Shop is a casual, well-patronised spot in the southern Adelaide suburb of Daw Park, open for lunch and dinner and available for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery. The shop draws a steady crowd and stays busy well into the evening, with regulars making the trip specifically for late-night feeds.
The menu covers the classics alongside some crowd-pleasing additions. Calamari rings, crumbed scallops, potato fritters, and pineapple fritters feature among the highlights, and the chips are frequently praised for their crispiness. The scallops paired with potato fritters and a serve of gravy have earned a loyal following, with many regulars rating that combination very highly. Portion sizes tend to be generous, and the value for money gets a regular mention from those who dine in or take away.
Opinions on the fish itself are more mixed. Some find the batter could be crispier and a touch thicker, while others note that the fish slices are impressively large. Service is generally regarded as friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere suits a relaxed, family-friendly meal out. The shop holds decent reviews across a solid number of visits, which speaks to a consistent local following in the Daw Park area.
Wheelchair access and free parking are available, with parking located behind the shop rather than out front. The venue is family-friendly and accepts card and mobile payments. Phone ahead during the dinner rush, especially on weeknights when the shop gets busy later in the evening.

Not good. Not at all. Steak Sandwich was miserable. see pics. Chips a very unnatural yellow with chicken globs of chicken salt. Never going back . Had to go to a reputable place on Winston Avenue ( totally recommended) to erase the ickiness and disappointment of experience. $20 wasted and Ewww.
We had three chicken schnitzels. The worst schnitzel that I ever had. Schnitzel was in the shape of pieces, and when I asked the owner, he said that he cut them. Funny is that he thought that I never had schnitzel. Yeah, he offered a few dollars, but why? He knew that. Schnitzel chicken is even poor quality and pretty hard. The fish and chips were overly dripping in oil. We were so disappointed with the food. He was trying to be very nice when we got in, but not with food. They know how to speak with customers, and I think they probably spent that on food. I would say don’t try Schnitzel there. Waste of money. I barely write bad reviews unless I get the worst. We spent our money to have good food, but not of this quality.
The Classic AB was really good and chips was crispy also. The amount of meat was quite Good. Was enough for 2 person so 21 dollar Worth it I highly recommended that. One thing is that there was no parking in front so you need to park behind
Great atmosphere….
Good customer service…
However the food lacks punch… Ordered fish and chips, they were made fresh, but the fish was oily, not crispy, maybe the batter could be a bit more thicker. The fish slice was huge though no complaints…
Personally I prefer a more crunchy and de-greased fish….
Ordered the fish and chips deal and was not happy. The fish was grilled in a pan first I think as it had some type of wedges in the batter .. and it was greasy !! And chips not nice either no chicken salt. The sauce was seafood I think but not tartare !! Would not recommend.
My wife and I drove 25min for a late evening feed of scollops, potato fritters and dimmies….wow. Must have gravy just made it all 10/10. Small shop, very popular, even at 10pm on a Thursday night👍
The food from this place is not worth it. Chicken schnitzel packs are clearly not a full schnitzel more so a thigh cut up. Bbq meat lover burger was absolutely revolting the bun was soggy from the amount of oil. The food is that greasy and sickening that we ended up with food poisoning.
Absolutely the worst chips we have ever had! Tasted terrible, some were rock hard & cold. Would not recommend going there if you want something resembling edible chips! $16.80 for that rubbish is a joke!
