About
Erindale Chicken & Seafood has built a solid reputation in Kensington Gardens, with well over four stars from a loyal and growing customer base. The fish and chips here are a particular drawcard, known for crispy batter and seafood that arrives without a trace of excess oil or sogginess. Butterfish is a favourite, and regulars have been known to call it the best fish and chips in South Australia. Friday nights see a steady stream of familiar faces, many of whom have made the trip a weekly tradition.
The menu stretches well beyond the seafood side of things. The chicken schnitzel burger is the shop’s signature, and the hotdogs have quietly earned their own following, with people genuinely making the drive across town just for one. Fresh salads also get a mention, rounding out a menu that gives families plenty to choose from. Staff members Bill and Phil are regulars’ favourites, and the warm, attentive service is something the shop is consistently known for.
Both takeaway and delivery are available, so there’s flexibility for those who want a relaxed night in. The shop is family-friendly with a kids’ menu, and the premises are wheelchair-accessible. Card and mobile payments are accepted, and the shop is open for lunch and dinner.

I ordered two Butterfish & Chips meals through Uber Eats, and they were exceptional-easily the best fish and chips I have had to date. The fish and chips were perfectly crispy with no excess oil or sogginess.

Erindale Chicken and Seafood is hands down the best chicken shop in South Australia. Every visit feels like you’re stepping into a place that genuinely cares about quality, freshness and great service. Their premium free-range chicken is on another level — always tender, perfectly seasoned and cooked with consistency that most places can’t match. You can really taste the difference, and it makes every meal feel a bit special.
The seafood is just as impressive. It’s always fresh, never greasy, and the batter is light but crispy, which is exactly what you want from a great fish and chip shop. Their chips are golden, crunchy and cooked properly every single time.
What really sets Erindale Chicken and Seafood apart, though, is the people behind the counter. Bill and Phil are absolute legends. They’re friendly, fast, and genuinely make every customer feel welcome. They remember regulars, offer great recommendations, and create a warm community vibe that you don’t get at many places anymore. It’s the kind of service that turns a quick stop for dinner into a great experience.
If you want quality food, fair prices and staff who actually care, Erindale Chicken and Seafood is unbeatable. Highly recommend!
This hotdog is cooked (in the best way). Juicy sausage, bacon, proper melted cheese, bun toasted, sauce ratio elite. I’d drive across town for it (thing is, I actually did!) 10/10. 🤝🔥
Friendly service, really nice chicken burger and chips. Takeaway only, no dine-in.
I had the 2 butter fish and chips delivered. I’m sorry I have to say, very very ordinary. The battered fish was just ok, nothing to get excited about, the tartare sauce was like black & gold quality straight from the bottle and the chips were; my god the most driest, flavorless chips i think i have ever had this side of a dodgy outback servo Bain Marie.
I definitely won’t be ordering from here again
Shocking food. They must have had a change of hands lately and altered their kitchen staff because they used to be pretty good. Not even a sponge could mop up the oil in my fish. So expensive too. Staff appeared very uninterested too and would ignore customers until the last minute to serve them.
I honestly don’t know how this place is still open, I went with my sister and the food was absolutely disgusting. Everything was dripping in oil to the point where the cardboard box was decomposing by the time we got it home. The chips tasted like they’d been fried in old oil infused with sweaty socks that hadn’t been changed in days, and my quarter chicken was dry as a bone like it had been sitting around forever. I won’t be returning
