About
Tuk’s Take Away is a casual fish and chip shop in Para Vista, South Australia, offering takeaway and delivery to locals across the area. The menu centres on the classics: fish, chips, and a range of sauces, with hamburgers also available for a straightforward, budget-friendly meal.
The chips are the main talking point here. Regulars praise them for their fresh-cut quality, generous seasoning, and golden colour, with some describing them among the best hot chips in South Australia. The shop uses a fresh-cut approach that draws in passing customers and keeps loyal ones coming back. Fish features alongside the chips as a staple, and the chicken and chips combination with mushroom gravy has its own following among regulars.
Service is noted as friendly and polite, and the shop is wheelchair accessible with free parking on site. Takeaway orders can be picked up in the casual surrounds of Para Vista Shopping Centre, while delivery brings the meal straight to the door. Note that recent changes to trading hours mean the shop no longer operates on weekends, so it is worth confirming current hours before making the trip.
Phone ahead during busy periods to avoid a wait, especially if ordering delivery.

Chicken and fish dipped in mushroom gravy. It’s a must try take away I’d love to try next time again.
I was lurking for coffee ☕️ but end up trying chicken and chips 🍟.
If you’re around Para Vista Shopping centre, you may want to try it.
Absolutely no hate to the busines, owner or workers at this store. Sadly, due to the cost of living (one must assume) the size of chips does not reflect their price. $7 for what looks like 300g of chips if one is lucky is abysmal and when everyone is tight for cash, it’s hurtful. There chips use to feed 3 of us quite well, now it’s just too expensive for even 1 mouth. Sad to say wont be buying such wonderful (and tasty) chips from here again.
This place used to be fantastic back in the day. Haven’t been in a few years and figured I’d have my usual for old times sake. However, the quality tuk’s once used to be known for has completely gone down the toilet.
Orders the half chicken and chips with no gravy and no peas. Instead of doing what i asked, they CAKED IT in their disgusting, premade, bland gravy. I also got bugger all chips due to the size of the teeny tiny aluminium tin!
The chicken was absolutely revolting! Tastes like something you’d get from woolies or Coles, which is not what ANYONE should go to a take away shop for! As for the chips, wasn’t sure what they tasted like as they’re were flooded in the brown sludge they call “gravy”, which was super overpowering.
The value for what you pay for here is not worth spending your hard earned money on. I implore anyone out there that reads this review, PLEASE go elsewhere for your lunch/dinner. And tuk’s, do better!
Excellent chippies. Hot delicious, golden. Comes wrapped in paper so you can tear into the top and eat out of the paper. A good selection on the menu and I’ve always found the service friendly and polite.
Worst food I’ve ever gotten from fish and chip shop. 7 dollars of chips was a hand full at best a chicken burger was chicken and lettuce. I’m shocked the best thing out of it was the packaged tartar sauce !
Wouldn’t recommend wasting money on food here, $14 for “large” chips that taste like they’ve been cooked twice. Very small serving best to go elsewhere. Best to go up to Clovercrest good food and service every time.
Fantastic fish and chips. Nicely seasoned ad nice chicken salt. One of the best hot chips in SA.
Called in today on my way past after seeing a fresh cut chips sign. Wow amazing just like when I was a child the best chips out. Chicken was very dry and I did not eat it but the chips made up for it .Not many fish and chip shops that have this anymore. Keep it up guys me and my family will be back for chips
