If your looking for a good feed of Fish & Chips, this is the place to avoid. Would never recommend anyone to eat from here. My family and I spent $100+ on dinner last night and what’s only a 3 minute walk home, we opened our fish & chips to the site of soggy mashed up fish……. we called and spoke to one of the workers and was promised a re fund only to go back into the shop to get another bunch of so called “freshly cooked fish” and a free drink with no refund. The second lot of fish was just as disgusting as the first lot.
This shop is gettig worse with cooking, the Souvlaki’s used to be nice but now they taste like horrible slop!
Chicken in both Souvlaki’s were dry and not tasty at all let alone like they were coal cooked, below par and disgusting.
Don’t get me started on their cooking of normal fish and chips and their manners. I will be going to the fish and chips shop 5 shops up from them as the are soooooo much better!.
Also if you are walking past their back shop fence hold your nose because it absolutley smells of rotting food 24/7 from their bins, and the back yard is worse with skanky pots, pans, buckets and left over food products, and the birds are always hanging around for the rotten food… The smell, OMG the smell or rotting food from Flake on Lurline…
Do yourself a “flavour!” move along and get something better
Ordered flake, batted sausage, and small chips. There wasn’t a big wait time, and the guy serving was friendly, but the size of the fish and batted sausage was disappointing as im used to bigger servings. It tasted ok and would go back if the servings were a little bit bigger. It’s why only 4 stars
FOOD SAFETY. I just ordered, two items were missing if that was not bad enough I was given a black potato cake. The smell alone was crazy. Immediately got rid off my order. Unfortunately I ate half of my potato cake before I looked down and seen the colour. This is a major food safety issue. General rule guys if you would not eat it do not serve it. Even the hamburger with batter looked bad. I was afraid to eat my own food.

Best Flake I have had and freshly cooked in front of you. Looked like home made potato cakes and tasted like them too, really nice. Staff friendly. Good old fashioned fish and chip shop with old fashioned service although they were young😀

Excellent fish, which they said was fresh, not frozen. Great chips and potato cakes. All well-cooked, not greasy, tasty and very generous in serving size. Not fancy, but a great, solid fish and chips meal. Will return there for sure.
