Everyone was recommending Riley’s for fish and chips and they were not wrong… The fish was amazing and the chips and potato cakes were perfect. Not oily or greasy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Large selection of foods available at this one stop shop.
Highly recommended and will now be our local go to fish and chip shop for years to come.
Make sure you stop by and get an amazing feed.
I came once a few weeks ago to try this place out and it was great! Revisited last night and unfortunately it wasn’t the same. The burger was excellent and chips were good, but the batter used for the potato cakes and fish, combined with the very old oil use (could tell by the colour and taste of the batter) was almost inedible. Batter very thin and almost burnt tasting, plus very very oily. Hubby used to own a F+C shop and could tell instantly the oil was old. Such a shame but the service was excellent but the quality of the food tonight just wasn’t there.
The burgers from here are yummy. Decent price for what you get. The staff are lovely people. The iced chocolate was one of the best I’ve ever had. Will keep coming back.
Excellent fresh, not frozen, fish. Excellent home-made potato cakes and great quality chips and dim sims (best I’ve had for a long time). While I didn’t mind, my wife didn’t like the batter in the fish and potato cakes, which had an Indian flavour to it. While the flavour was mild, plain batter would be better. Lovely people to deal with obviously aiming to please and not just churning it out.
Really wanted an old school souvlaki. Asked when ordering if they carved the lamb off the spit and was assured they do.
They don’t.
It’s actually diced and cooked on the hotplate. Not the way I like it
Would have ordered something else
Friendly staff
I stand by my review
While you were cooking I queried again and was told that you slice it off the spit and then cook on hotplate. Clearly not true as it was diced lamb.
I was given the option not to buy but thought I’d give it a try.
Flavours were good and until I read your response I was going to I come back.
Best souvlaki in Langwarrin. I had Chicken souvlaki.
And the best burger in town.
My Mixed HSP was yum. I also had potato cakes. They were all very nice. This is my go to place in Langwarrin
Fantastic local fish and chips on the service road off Cranbourne–Frankston Road in Langwarrin.
The food was fresh, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious, easily some of the best we’ve had in a long time.
The lovely family who run the shop are warm, welcoming and clearly take great pride in what they do. It’s so nice to have such a great local takeaway in the area.
Highly recommend stopping in if you’re nearby.
