The owner/staffs welcomed us warmly and i got to say that the food was generous portions! Most importantly its deliciously halal Fish And Chips! ❤️ would definitely be back there again if im in melbourne!
So I tried Burleigh Road Fish & Chips 3/3/24 and I must say I was very disappointed.
The fish was smaller and thinner than a size 4 shoe, the souvlakis was missing almost all lettuce. For $60 who ever is preparing the food needs to actually do a better job with the offering. I would not be back because of the miserable serving and value for money. $15.50 for a souvlaki lacking in ingredients noted on the menu with almost no lettuce and the thick cheek of a tomato and $36.50 for a fisherman’s platter with the flake so small better suited to a small child.
Disappointed!
Decided to give a new fish n chip shop a try as my usual is booked out for Good Friday. I was pleasantly surprised when I called to ask something about my order 30secs after ordering that the order was already in the fryer – in 1 min they got it ready & started. When I ordered I selected their “recommended delivery option” and appeared to include that in the cost, but told they didn’t have a delivery driver today & had to collect. – no prob.
Got there to collect within 10 mins. It was already ready wrapped, great. Can’t fault their prompt work.
However when I arrived it was off-putting to see all the fish already out, all exposed ready to cook not in a fridge or anything.. I order $7 chips, 2 potato cakes & a flake and can of drink. Total – $28!
Came home to unwrap under cooked chips & flake (doughy & battery, like it was pre battered or floured & not cooked) potato cakes were tiny!! Not even just average. Super small & they were $2.20 each! Chips have a strong oil taste. I’ve ordered at many different fish n chips over the past decade here in melton & this sadly by far has been the most disappointing yet the costs are incredibly over priced. Other chip shops usually let you know potato cakes are too small or thin so they’ll add an extra. Oil is either old or the food was put in to cook before oil was hot enough. Not even average, horrible. Pick up just under $30?? Never again.

The staff that served us were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious – well seasoned, well battered and good servings
For a run-of-the-mill fish and chip shop, I’d put this in the category of one of the better ones available – worth the visit
I used to come here 10 years ago with different owners for the best burgers in town.
I was happy to find tonight that even with new owners, the burgers are still the best in town.
The food is cooked fresh to order and tastes amazing too!

Straight up some of the best fish and chips I have had in a LONG time. Chips were cooked to perfection, the grilled flake straight up melted in my mouth and the potato cakes were unreal. 10/10 for food and for service, will happily be making this the regular spot.
Customer service spot on! Very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable team! Menu has enough to find something that may fit your dietary requirements. Burgers & chips were fresh, so yummy! Recommend the signature Burleigh burger #1 delicious #2 big #3 drink included on the price of the burger (perfect if you have a big appetite, or just to try a yummy Burger) buy the peri peri sauce if you don’t mind a little kicker to dip chips. I’ll be back to try more! Cheers
