Such great seafood!
From outside this eatery has a very modest look and honestly, it’s a throwback to old school fish shops from days gone by and this is a good thing.
We ordered the Grilled Barramundi, Prawn Cutlets and Seafood Sticks and everything was flawlessly cooked! The Prawn Cutlets were cleaned (an added bonus) and the Grilled Barramundi was really fresh and cooked to perfection.
The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable. We have visited here multiple times over many years and we have always had excellent seafood from here!
It’s clear they have been doing this for a long time and they are very good at it!!
By far the best fish and chips I had in a long time, the fish was crispy as it should be and the chips were warm inside and crispy on the other side. Don’t even let me start about the potato cakes and prices in there. Gordon Ramsay should check this place out!
Absolutely horrible service the lady at the front made fun of my disabled brother handing him the food even though he didn’t have hands than when I grabbed the food she said the most disgusting thing and called my brother the R word. I hope everyone stays safe. I will NOT be returning!!
Just moved to Somerville and after a busy few days, decided to get take away. Wow. I would undoubtedly say that I think I just had the best, freshest, fish and chips ever and I’m way too close to 70. No wonder the place was packed.
Disgusted with flakey jake’s somerville. My fiance and i have been coming here for years, not anymore. Mrs went to grab a chip and a silverfish dropped off it! They handled it well by giving me a full refund. I think the male owners name was tom, he seemed okay, a little annoyed as you would be, but apologetic atleast. Also mentioned they had it ‘sprayed’ for bugs. Instead of just maintaining a clean kitchen. The woman on the other hand was visibly irritated that i had come back for a refund with the full meal in hand! She was unapologetic and very rude. Do not recommend.
2 weeks ago..Ordered. Fish bites and chips for 4 people ( fish bites just that smaller than an oyster.) were very dry!! and Overcooked chips…COST $32.00.rip off.I probably.never ever order from them even with New Owners..they have youngsters on the ordering and till..who got the order wrong..
New owners took over last year and the food, service and the shop has really improved dramatically. Best chips around and awesome potato cakes. Very clean, not oily at all, fresh vibrant fish and seafood. Great people and excellent service. Haven’t had the burgers but I hear great reviews on them.
