I just ordered bulk Fish and Chips for the guys at work. Even though our order was large, the guys at Colyton all pitched in and smashed it out in no time. The oil is fresh and the crispyness was perfect. The chips were old school and I will be coming back just for them. I had to travel a bit to get there but it was well worth the trip. This was my first time here and I can because 4.7 stars was too hard to pass up. Worth every star.

Returned months after previous poor experience with food and service. This business used to be the place to go for quality fish & chips. Our extended family and friends would come here from four suburbs away.

Unfortunately once again I was disappointed. Kept the order simple as possible, battered items all ready to be fried.

14 minutes later I received burnt offerings.
$7 small Battered fish and the spring roll are almost dark brown. Fish batter was awful, Couldn’t even stomach the fish from inside the batter even drenched in tartare sauce.

Potato scallops batter was better but they were dripping oil so made it hard to eat them also.

The only thing close to acceptable were the battered savs, but that could have been to the thick batter.

Not sure if I will ever be returning.

Purchased $50 worth of hot food, including seafood basket,
Seafood was disgusting!!! Batter so thick made the fish soggy, calamari that was sponsored by Hubbly Bubbly, prawn cocktail fried enough I could have used it as a hammer!

The oil that everything was fried in, was well overdue to be changed!! Chips felt like cardboard, plutopup bent when I went to snap it in half!!!!

They’ve lost there way, hope they find there passion for cooking.

The burger with the lot was the only decent thing there was.

Went there for the first time and I don’t usually make reviews but I just had to since I saw these people were getting bullied by locals online, everything seems fine so i guess this is just a bias case of old versus new owners. Very sad to see a community trying to oh so seemly kick them out.. and I wouldn’t be surprised if they left and people worse took over but oh well it is what it is if they leave, I wouldn’t want to serve that kind of community. Good luck with their future endeavours.

I really enjoyed the chats we had and the food was great. If I’m in town again.. will definitely visit again.

Sincerely a non bias and honest reviewer.

This is not the Colyton Seafood that it used to be. The new owners have run the place into the ground & don’t seem to give a crap since nothing has improved in the many months they have been running the shop. Food is never cooked properly, it’s either undercooked or overfried to the point it’s inedible & they seem to think it’s their own private party with the radio blaring so loud you can’t hear what’s going on or who’s order is being called, what happened to the efficient puck system they used to have. As for trying to order on UberEats they’ll accept the order then cancel it 15min later. Don’t bother wasting your time here, find somewhere else to eat since all the previously loyal locals are doing the same thing.

this was one of my fish cocktails, over the years the food has definitely gone down hill

Beautiful food! The burgers and fish and chips were cracka! Must try, my go to every week

The boys running the place are nice but they cook like they hate eating. The fish was leathery. The calamari rings were like over cooked umbilical cords. The chips were powdery. The quality has dropped drastically. I am really bummed because this use to be the best place for fish and chips.
