About
Gillieston Heights Take Away and Bottle Shop is a popular local takeaway serving lunch and dinner in the Gillieston Heights area of New South Wales. With a solid four-plus star reputation across a healthy number of reviews, it draws a steady crowd of weekday regulars and weekend visitors alike. Free street parking and a range of payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and tap-to-pay, make it easy to stop in without fuss.
The menu covers a good spread of takeaway classics. Fish cocktails are a firm favourite among regulars, and the chicken schnitzel burger gets plenty of well-earned praise. Potato scallops are another highlight, and the generous use of chicken salt across the deep-fried offerings has become something of a signature touch. A kids menu adds to the family-friendly appeal, and alcohol and coffee are also available on-site.
A note on the chips: some regulars have found them inconsistent, with frozen-style chips occasionally letting down an otherwise solid meal. The rest of the menu more than holds its own, so it’s a minor blemish on an otherwise popular little spot. Service has been a mixed experience for some, though the food quality keeps people coming back.
For anyone after fish and chips in the Gillieston Heights region, or a quick, satisfying takeaway meal without a long drive, this shop fits the bill. Phone ahead during busy dinner service to keep things moving.

LOVE the food! Burgers, potato scallops are so delish! Only down side is the chips, often they’re over cooked & not very nice just frozen variety..
PLEASE PLEASE do some fresh cut chips! I’d pay much more for a better chip!!
We rate the chicken schnitzel burger! You should definitely try it!
My husband wasn’t as crash hot on the roast beef and gravy roll which is a shame because he loves them.
It’s an amazing takeaway and the food is splendid 5 stars I go there all the time to get lovely fish cocktails
Nick mickhole is an absolute embarrassment to this company service absolute disgrace and rude does brings he’s ego first and tried making me pay for sauces I have already payed for and argued back and swore at me
My social group had lunch from this take away shop today. The guys clearly love to put chicken salt on all of their deep fried foods!
Absolutely great food! but unfortunately the young girl that serves is just plain rude. Doesn’t talk, doesn’t smile, nothing, you just feel uncomfortable whilst ordering as she doesn’t speak. I’m sorry but it’s just so rude, it’s not hard to be polite and talk to customers. If there’s one thing that will ever stop us from not returning it would be this service, and unfortunately it’s every-time we go there.
Freidly customer service and the food so tasty will be back again
Beautiful fresh food cooked to perfection. Roast beef and gravy roll a MUST!!
