Just went to this fish and chip shop, what a poor quality outlet. The staff are miserable, the food quality looked poor overall. We waited 25 minutes to then get an incomplete order. When I approached the young sullen rude millennial at the counter she took the parcel, no apologies & just went to fix the order. The fish was clearly frozen, oily and cheap quality, as were the chips. God knows how this business keeps going, must be nowhere else to eat! As we left the premises one of the other customers said he quite often gets wrong orders, but there’s nowhere else to go. Then don’t!!!! I couldn’t believe they still sell frozen seafood sticks! No fresh seafood in sight. Overall worst meal we’ve had in years!
Great food never disappoints.

I needed the calamari to have a normal crispy crumb as the box I received, they were soggy as was the chips. I felt that the value was not as valuable as the price being charged compared to fresh seafood.
Decided to give the sea shanty a try today,after being tired of constantly let down by our local.
To the point, absolutely 10/10 we got two burgers and two cocktail fish just as a starter point.
Burgers – old fashioned take away burgers when you think about old school burgers that’s exactly what you get I had the world wife had the plain, you get that mad old bbq sauce fresh salads every bites flavoursome.
Fish – Wow! Batter crunchy well cooked and not thick, looks and tastes like it’s all done in house fresh, the fish itself! Well it just melts in your mouth soft and flakey no dirty cod taste not overly salty, we are both super picky with seafood but can’t fault what we sampled today.
We live in Cliftleigh so well out of our way but we will 100% be back.
Price was roughly $28 for everything which we also thought was great especially on a Sunday, we tried the other place up the road recently and you pay that for a single burger 🤷♂️
Staff were friendly enough all busy, young girl was nice and polite.
Unless we are miss in something I don’t know how this isn’t a minimum of 4.5 stars

Okay great fish and chips very tasty but can be a bit on the expensive side a extra large chips will cost you $16.50 it feeds 4 adults and 2 kids.. other than that I myself would definitely order from there again..
What a great take away first visit it will not be my last fresh food you get heaps and the quality is good not oily cannot say more for this shop try it you will not be sorry
Come from QLD to try and we had fish and chips with gravy, have also tried some of the burgers. Didn’t disappoint at all, best chips and gravy in NSW/QLD. My multi partner loved the chicken and gravy rolls, devoured it. Staff are incredibly kind, bubbly, respectful. Great atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend sea shanty enough.
The girls serving are friendly and efficient.
The fish was cooked through beautifully but unfortunately the batter was soggy and stuck to the bag the food was served in.
I asked for the chips to be cooked longer as they are never cooked enough. This was not done and again they where just soggy mush(as always). Lucky for me I recooked then once I got them home which sorted the poor quality of the cooking for the chips.
The overall was disappointing given that the meal is not cheap when taking in the the soggy state of the food by the time I got to eat it.
