About
Manly Ocean Foods is a fish and chip shop on Sydney’s Northern Beaches that draws a steady crowd for lunch and dinner, with both takeaway and delivery available for those who’d rather eat elsewhere. The menu leans heavily on the sea, with barramundi and grilled fish among the highlights alongside calamari, battered fish, and chips. Family packs make it a practical choice for groups, and the shop’s halal certification broadens its appeal across the Manly community.
The food is consistently noted for being fresh and served hot, with generous portions at reasonable prices. Calamari rings, battered snapper, and chips all feature regularly, and the availability of a salad bar alongside the fried options gives the menu a bit more range than a typical suburban chippy. Grilled fish is a genuine alternative for anyone after something lighter.
Service tends to be quick, which matters at a location that sees regular foot traffic from both locals and visitors to the area. The shop is family-friendly, with a kids’ menu available. Expect a wait during busy periods, and note that reservations are not taken.
For fish and chips near Manly, this is a solid option with a broad menu and a casual, welcoming atmosphere. Check hours before heading in during peak times.

Tucked by the sunny shores of Manly beach, this popular fish and chips shop is a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. With its cheerful vibe and inviting aroma of fried goodness, it’s hard to resist. Ample seating area by the beach and also right outside this chippy offers a perfect spot to enjoy the salty breeze and watch some beach action.
The menu has the usual crispy battered fish fillets, served alongside a portion of fresh and hot chips. One can choose from a variety of fresh fish options, from classic Cod to Flathead tails to succulent John Dory to. For those craving something some more, there is also salmon and calamari. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but that’s Manly/Sydney.
With its laid-back atmosphere and delicious fare, this chippy captures the essence of beachside dining, making it a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and beach enthusiasts alike.
Loved the seafood from here. Had ordered a snapper battered and few other things and was very satisfied with prices and servings. Fish was fresh and chips were too. Highly recommended for fish and chips lovers.
We went to Manly and had dinner by the beach. The food was really nice. We had a family pack which consisted of battered fish and chips and calamari rings, scallops. We also had grilled fish, seafood salad and green salad. Price was reasonable and we were all full. Plus so were the magpies & seagulls. The staff at the register was nice and friendly. The store Looked clean. It was only a small shop though with no seating area so I guess that’s the only criticism.
Very happy with my experience at Manly Ocean Foods! The seafood was fresh and of great quality. It was a pleasant meal, and I would definitely return for more.
We had an amazing experience at Manly Ocean Foods! The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. A big shoutout to Chef Akif Uddin Alvi – his cooking made the whole meal extra special. Every dish, from the seafood to the chips, was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for top-quality seafood in Manly. We’ll definitely be coming back again! ❤️
I went here hoping for good fish and chips, bought 3 family packs and found hair in every single pack they gave us. We only took photos of hair in the chips but believe me, there was hair on the fish and in the batter as well.
The food was alright. Big battered fish was the best, even though there was hair in it. Chips were very disappointing
We ordered 2 x fish n chips with scallops and tartare sauce SML, sold us large cont total $38. Fish portion was sooo wafer thin on both meals, first we thought it may have been the potato scallops they were thicker even though quite thin. The batter was bulk of missing fish.
The chips were ok. Can’t give it a good score as it’s not satisfactory
Excellent delivery of service for a quick-bites takeaway corner shop 👌
Mind you, it takes longer than McDonalds but ya, it’s worth a wait for the quality of food. My surfer’s snack (mini fish nuggets and chips) was hot and crispy. Passes the threshold for good fried stuff! 🐟🍟
