About
Liberty Moruya Road House is a multi-purpose service station and food venue on the New South Wales South Coast that consistently surprises visitors with the quality of its kitchen. For travellers passing through Moruya, it doubles as a proper sit-down or takeaway stop for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, seven days a week.
The burgers are the clear crowd favourite here, drawing praise well beyond what anyone would typically expect from a roadhouse setting. The steak sandwich also earns strong mentions, and the butter chicken has built a loyal following among regulars who come back specifically for it. Halal options are available, including halal beef burgers, though it pays to ask staff to clean the grill beforehand if that matters to you. A kids menu is on offer, making it a practical stop for families on a longer drive along the coast.
Dine-in seating covers both indoor tables and outdoor areas, with takeaway and delivery rounding out the options. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and has free on-site and street parking. Card and mobile payments are accepted. Late-night service keeps the kitchen busy well past nine in the evening, which is a genuine convenience for anyone arriving in Moruya after a long trip.
For a fish and chip shop stop combined with a broader menu, the Road House holds a well-rated reputation in the area, making it more than a fuel stop. Phone ahead for large or catering orders during busy periods.

The workers seem to have no form of urgency when it comes to serving. If you have multiple workers on, and 1 worker is swamped – maybe the other worker should come out and ASSIST, instead of just doing back of house stuff while your service area is full. Uses atrocious almond milk. They don’t have Chai powder so if you ask for one you’ll get a cup of warm, slightly flavoured grainy milk.
Worst customer service. Waited 10 minutes for a cup of gross and threw it out after one sip.
Petrol keeps the car going, there’s you’re 1 star.
Also, attempted to call regarding how absolutely atrocious my service was and the phone rang out, twice. Literally the worst servo / food service I have EVER been to. If you’re in customer service, learn what customer service means.
Tasty curries but found a strand of hair on my papadum
Never thought I’d find myself writing a 5 star review on petrol station food and yet here we are. Fantastic burgers with the lot, better than most takeaway shops! Great job to the cooks, best petrol station feed I’ve ever had.
Excellent service by all staff led by Swaroop…
Highly recommended…
Beef Burgers are Halal, make sure to request to clean the grill beforehand…
Great location!
Arrived after 9pm and still lots of people ordering food. The hamburger was good. The chocolate milkshake was fine but a bit overpriced. Certainly better than expected.
Had a great steak sandwich and hubby had a burger. Much better than I was expecting from a service station. Will be back for sure
