About
The Burger Boys in North Ryde sits at the intersection of fish and chips and a much broader casual dining offer, making it a genuine neighbourhood spot for more than just a classic deep-fried feed. The menu covers burgers, doner kebab, fried chicken, salads, and a solid range of vegan and vegetarian options alongside the traditional fish-and-chip fare that anchors the menu. Halal food is available, which broadens the appeal considerably for families and groups with varied dietary needs.
Regulars tend to lean into the chip rolls, often loaded with sweet chilli sauce and hummus, as a standout casual bite. The burgers are built with fresh ingredients and are generously sized, though the kitchen takes its time putting orders together, so it pays to factor that in during busy periods. The vibe inside gets positive mentions too, with a cool, welcoming atmosphere and staff who take the time to walk customers through the options.
The venue handles dine-in with outdoor seating, takeaway, kerbside pickup, and no-contact delivery. High chairs and a kids’ menu make it a practical choice for families, and wheelchair accessibility is provided throughout. The shop is open for lunch, dinner, and late-night service, covering a longer trading window than many fish and chip shops in the North Ryde area.
With a well-rated reputation built on over 300 reviews, it draws a steady local crowd. Phone ahead for larger orders during the dinner rush.

So glad that a good burger joint opened up in the neighborhood! Burgers are hearty, delicious and made with fresh ingredients. My burger was a little soggy so couldn’t be picked up with hands and fell apart. But otherwise great overall. Loaded chips were a highly but in the spicier side if you can’t handle the heat. Potato scallops were surprisingly tasty, great addition of herbs on it!
The burger took fairly long to make & TBH Hungry Jacks/Carls Jr/Chubby Buns tastes better. The beef patties aren’t cooked charred-style – that would be much nicer – & they taste & feel more like rubbery pork sausage instead of beef.
For $15.90 for the double patty burger it was double the disappointment. The beef rasher was cooked well but bland – bacon would be better. The bun is nice, fresh raw purple onion OK but a Hungry Jacks Whopper gives more onions & they stand out more in terms of taste than this one.
The lettuce fresh but a bit thin. The tomato was also fresh but not as tasty or tangy as in a Hungry Jacks whopper. The sauce was OK if not a bit spicy, I would prefer more ketchup or BBQ sauce.
Also they should update their 8 month old menu photo on their Google page as the price in store is $1 more for all items. I find lots of stores don’t update their menu nowadays, but this can annoy customers.
Might have been better to buy their Twinning premium wagyu beef patty burger which I saw advertised on the store wall only after placing my order.
Drove past this a few times & saw the reviews so was curious to try. Eating in was OK although you there was not great extraction of their cooking oil smell.
The tables at 3pm were very clean & they put a whole box of tissues on each one & have sanitiser on the wall counter. I like their waffle plastic chairs.
I might come back to try their chips & Wagyu beef version &/or their chicken burgers but I do not recommend anyone get their standard beef burgers. And parking can be hard at 3pm I had to park far away.
*UPDATE* Came back Monday 20 Nov 2:45pm to try the Wagyu beef burger & chicken burgers. The signs advertising the Twinning wagyu burger deal etc were taken off the hooks & facing down in a pile on the wall counter so could not order wagyu. Ordered their portuguese chicken burger which was $12.90 it was a lot nicer than their standard beef patties & had a generous amount of chicken as per the 2 new photos. But the sauce was more like slightly spicy thousand island dressing than peri peri, OK but a bit strange as it would suit a salad better. And we sat on the outside long wooden benches which had dried bird poo not cleaned off them. I dunno whether council is meant to do the cleaning or this restaurant?
For after 9 pm is a good option, but all three burgers we had almost tasted the same.
The loaded fries were not good at all, coz the chicken inside was burnt and the beef tasted kind of sweet I don’t know why!
Dine-in experience on Sunday afternoon (4:30pm):
I ordered the cheesy chicken burger, but unfortunately it didn’t meet my expectations. The flavor was dominated by a strong, slightly spicy and sour sauce that completely covered up the cheese taste I was looking forward to. I could barely taste any cheese at all, which was disappointing since I wanted a cheesy burger, not just a sauce-heavy one.
The buns, however, were the highlight. They were incredibly soft, fluffy, and almost balloon-like — probably the softest burger buns I’ve ever had, and that was something I really enjoyed.
On the downside, the chicken was thin, the cheese slices were skimpy, and overall the burger felt flat and small for the price. The bun made it look bigger than it really was, but it was mostly air inside. The fries were plain with no sauce included, which made them feel incomplete.
As for desserts, the ice cream sandwich was $6 for a very small portion — honestly, you could buy a whole 2L tub of ice cream for the same price, so it didn’t feel worth it.
The environment itself was nice though, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available.
Overall, the buns stood out as the best part, but the burger itself was underwhelming and overpriced. No toilets available for customers either..I wish they had a toilet …
I had to go across the street flame cafe for the toilet use…which was not very convenient to do.
I don’t think I’m comming back again cuz first impression is always the most important ones and if my 1st experience wasn’t good, I won’t return. Plenty of parking on street.
While visiting Australia ,my brother took me to this place and on man oh man i loved it.
Not only the ambience is great, decor is cool vibe.
People are very kind and helpful, take time to explain options available.
Mr.Sai helped us a lot as we were looking for vegetarian options and they have lots of variety.

The Burger Boys Sydney
Burger Boys Sydney never disappoints! They do the best chip rolls — especially with sweet chilli sauce and hommus. Absolute perfection. I’d usually go for a falafel roll too, but it’s a little on the dry side for me. Still, everything else more than makes up for it!
Their potato scallops are just amazing — crispy, flavourful, and that lemon and herb spice mix? Chef’s kiss! 👌 For the price, it’s honestly pretty decent. If I had a lot more money, I’d be eating here at least six days a week, no question.
Amazing place, friendly vibe, and food that hits the spot every time. Everyone should give it a try! 😜
i had the worst experience last night. i ordered the chicken kebab. they prepared the kebab with the chicken which was so hardened that i couldnt even chew it. that means it was not fresh. then i didnt eat some of the chicken in it . but the rest of the kebab i ate it. and i had the worst night. i couldnt sleep. i had vomiting. guys dont play with people health. you think people wont be effected by unhygeinic food?? . be carefull for the freshness of things you use.
I have made poor decisions at 2am that I usually wouldn’t share, but this one could save lives. I have trusted dodgy kebab shops without question From Hackney to Bangor road, but nothing prepared me for this.
The meat was so hard it felt like it had been marinated in concrete and flash-fried in regret. One bite in and I genuinely feared for my dental work. I need answers, if this meat was NOT carved from Arnold swarzeneggers bicep, this seriously could be a case for the FBI. If this was a chicken, it lived a very short and mysterious life. And why was there only one piece? It was more like a concept of chicken, a rumour or maybe a ghost. The chips were just embarrassed to be there.
I know this is the Northside, but snack packs are universal, may karma AND all of the brothers find you!
You will never reach “Boss” status here, I’ll personally make sure of it.
Never, ever order from here unless you absolutely hate yourself
