Paid $29.90 for a cocktail pack (this included a 15% surcharge for the public holiday) only to receive the worst chips I have ever been served, they have been fried beyond belief and can’t believe the owner could see these and still serve them. As a local regular customer this has been extremely disappointing to say the least. It wasn’t busy there were 6 people including myself waiting. I have been trying to call for an hour unable to reach them.
I would like to think once I reach them a refund would apply as they weren’t edible at all and photos show the degree of just how bad these were. Really not good enough
Amazingly delicious food! Had these Ocean Basket Pack for 2 Adults and 2 Kids! It was perfectly portioned, loads of chips. We had people asking us where did we purchase them! The fishes were a good size too! Definitely recommend
We eventually got the $20 fish n chips deal.
We walked in and the lady in her late 50’s early 60’s was having an in depth conversation with what appeared to be a friend or acquaintance, we were left standing at the counter for several minutes while they had their gossip session. We were about to walk out when she finally acknowledged we were there. We placed the order and paid for it, we were the only customers, there was no other orders and it was a good 30-40 minute wait. The chips were good however the fish was vile, I literally gagged and spat it out onto the ground in was pretty much inedible. Tartare sauce was very strange watery texture and tasted almost like it was about to turn bad. I felt somewhat violated / ill after eating, the seagulls ended up getting most of it, I truly hope they were OK. 🤢🤮
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. The food was extremely oily, particularly the fish, and it left everyone feeling unwell for hours after eating. Portion sizes were average at best and did not justify the quality.
Customer service was also lacking — a smile or a little extra effort to make customers feel welcome would have gone a long way, rather than making us feel like an inconvenience.
Overall, we wouldn’t return and definitely wouldn’t recommend this fish and chip shop.
Ordered online twice over the past few months, and both times one ordered item was not included. We were unable to check it out at the time as it was quite a big order and it was all in a box ready to be picked up. Salt and pepper squid was oily, undercooked and tasteless and the chips overcooked. It is disappointing as we used to get great fish and chips from here.
Terrible value for money. We bought the grilled fish and salad pack with a tray of small chips and a tartare sauce. We had to walk back twice as they had forgotten to pack the salad and the tartare sauce. The small tray of chips wasn’t enough – upon ripping open the paper bag we were surprised to see a single layer of chips only. What was there was nice but we were hungry after spending $50. The grilled fish did not have much flavour and the salad was soggy. And yes, they employed young girls who didn’t know how to deal with the crowd and their complaints. Keep in mind this was peak tourist season so the wait for fish and chips was in excess of 30 mins.
Needed a bit longer on the grill
Was pretty keen for the fish and prawns, but they came out a bit underwhelming. The prawns were okay, but the fish was definitely half-cooked and still raw in the middle. Scallops too.
I don’t mind a quick grill, but this was just way too underdone to actually finish. Had to leave a fair bit of it behind. A bit of a letdown since I was looking forward to a proper feed.
Would be great if the kitchen could make sure it’s actually cooked through next time, cheers.
Fish was a big serve cooked well, chips were ok.
Staff need to find their sence of urgency, stop touching face and hair, and find the fine line between direct and rude.
