About
Sanctuary Point Seafood is a popular takeaway spot serving the Sanctuary Point community on the New South Wales South Coast. With a well-rated reputation built on 255 reviews, this fish and chip shop has earned a loyal following for its fresh seafood, generous portions, and prices that locals consider genuinely reasonable.
The menu leans into classic seafood territory done well. The seafood basket for two draws plenty of attention, with regulars pointing to the freshness of the fish and the size of the serves. Rock oysters make an appearance as an optional extra, a nice touch for those wanting something a little more premium alongside their chips. Weekly specials, including a fish cocktail pack that easily feeds two, offer serious value, and the chip serve alone comes up repeatedly as a highlight. Beyond the seafood staples, the menu extends to kids’ meals and even caesar salad wraps, making it a practical choice for groups with mixed tastes.
The shop is family friendly, and the casual takeaway format keeps things quick and straightforward. Staff are noted for being genuinely warm and approachable, which adds to the easy atmosphere. Wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance are available, and the shop accepts credit card, debit card, and NFC mobile payments for added convenience.
For anyone visiting the Shoalhaven area or passing through Sanctuary Point, this fish and chip shop is worth adding to the list. Phone ahead during busy lunch and dinner periods to keep wait times down.

Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
Ordered the Seafood Basket for 2 and a dozen Rock Oysters. Food tasted all fresh and reasonably priced.
Staff were extremely friendly! This place was only a 2 min drive from our Airbnb.
Excellent take-away seafood I’ve had recently. Seafoods were fresh, big, with fair price, and very tasty as well. Really had a good lunch there. Recommended!! 😀
It’s not every day you choose to order a Cesar salad wrap from a fish n chip shop, but I have zero regrets. I couldn’t decide what I felt like for lunch after a long drive. My partner got the chicken nugget kids meal and I got the wrap. This kids portion of fries was extremely generous! Along with the chicken salt. These were some tasty fries. The Cesar wrap was amazing the perfect combination of ingredients and flavour. Definitely would recommend!!
Well worth being back in my hometown for, highly recommend the fish cocktail pack ($16 – enough for two of me I’m serious) as well as the weekly specials ($10!) – so much food for your money, a blessing in this economy. Best chips in the area and delightfully friendly staff. Thanks Sanga Takeaway!
Half of my order was missing. I rung and told them I was coming back for my order with my other food to be replaced as obviously I wanted all the food to be hot to eat together. When getting there they wanted to look at my order to see what was missing and then said they wouldn’t replace all of my order and I shouldn’t have brought the other food back which isn’t true as they needed to see my order to see what was missing. The lady who was serving me has no customer service skills at all. They were not helpful at. The service here is rubbish.
Traveled down from Central Coast for a short visit, stopped into Sanctuary point seafood to grab some prawns.
Absolutely loved them, they were fresh and tasty.
They also do great coffee, milkshakes and frappes.
A big thankyou to Rocco, Helen and team for outstanding customer service.
Would definitely recommend them to anyone and will be stopping in next time we’re down that way.
Amazing new owners, Fantastic food, beautiful customer service, so friendly. Will deffinetly be going back very soon xx
We often get our fish and chips here and it’s perfect , however today it was overcooked , dry and mostly batter not much fish very disappointing .
