The best fish & chips I have had for years .
The store is very clean & well presented .staff very helpful and happy to be there too !
They stock a wide range of seafood and also have an outstanding variety of select ice creams & gelatos.
Last Friday I purchased the battered red snapper fillet with chips & garden salad .
It was such a standout I returned last Saturday a great serve of the battered flaky hoki fish cocktails .
This is the way fresh seafood should be cooked & sold at a coastal town and I’ll be coming back for more . Genuine 5 stars .
We ordered a basket for 2 at Hooked fish and chips. The prawns were honestly so good and was the first time for us to try this speciality. The fish was not bad. the calamaris were overcooked while the fish batter was a bit too soft. the chips were dry and had a bit of a strange aftertaste. the quantities are generous. I suggest you to take your basket just behind the shop there is a park where you can sit or directly at the beach (but be aware of the seagulls!).
Such a great fish and chip shop! We had hoki and flathead with chips — everything was fresh and packed with flavour. Service was excellent and the wait time was minimal. You can tell they care about quality. Highly recommend!
We were told after paying there is a 30 minute wait that turned into 75 minutes!

The calamari rings we spat out they were sour and a bad smell!
The prawns did not taste right spat that out too!
Chips tasted like they were deep fried 3 times over the last few days with no salt kids didn’t even want to eat them
I’ve been here twice, 10 days apart. Not sure what was going on but the place stank so bad on both occasions that the kids refused to stay in there whilst I ordered ice creams. The smell seemed to be a combination of old cooking oil mixed with sewerage. We only ordered ice creams on both occasions. On the first occasion we received decent single serves of ice cream for $6 each. The second time, today, we received less than half of that previous amount and felt completely ripped off. I mentioned to our server that the serves were ridiculously small compared to our previous visit and he just shrugged his shoulders.
We buy food from here all the time, as it’s so good! However, lately multiple times we’ve tried to order Burgers and been told, the Grill is turned OFF, I don’t understand why you can’t make a battered Fish Burger which doesn’t require to be cooked on a grill? please put up a SIGN so your customers know before reaching the cashier. Very disappointing
Absolutely terrible, save your money and do not eat from here. We ordered seafood box for 2. No salt, though we asked for chicken salt. The chips were inedible, they were not fresh and very stale. I say cooked in oil that has never been changed. The seafood was below average. We threw most of it away. This was the worst seafood basket we have ever had.
Don’t waste your money.
Waited 10 mins for someone to serve us, no one in the shop…the guy cooking didn’t even acknowledge the customers.
Chips were terrible, no napkins when asked for napkins said they ran out.
Had to ask for salad dressing ( as they did not put it with the salad) Looked like the Salad was from the weekend ( limp lettuce soggy tomatoes and onion and only half a tray of salad on display
Then to top it off half way through the meal my partner found a long hair ( and it wasn’t mine ) lol
Used to come here often a year ago and it was fantastic for the price and the fish of the day
Has totally gone down hill
