About
St Marys Fish & Chips is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the St Marys community across lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available. The menu covers the classics, with battered fish and calamari as the signature items alongside chips, burgers, salads, and fish cocktails. A dedicated kids’ menu makes it a practical choice for families, and the venue is wheelchair-accessible and casual in feel.
Regulars speak highly of the battered fish, noting a crispy exterior and freshly cooked finish that brings back the kind of flavour most people associate with a proper old-school fish and chip shop. The chips earn consistent praise for being golden and cooked to order. The burgers draw strong loyalty too, with more than a few locals rating the burger with the lot among the best in Sydney’s west. Staff are frequently noted for being friendly and attentive, and the shop is kept clean and tidy.
It is worth noting that some recent feedback points to occasional inconsistency, particularly around chip oiliness and fish freshness, so experiences can vary. That said, the shop carries a solid four-plus star reputation across a healthy number of reviews, which speaks to its overall reliability in the area.

Food is excellent. Love their fish and chips. My kids would not order anywhere else but here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And they take their time making sure that the customers are always happy. Place is very clean not like the other fish and chips places that you go to. And I always see the staff tidying up!
Absolutely fantastic experience at St. Mary’s Fish and Chips! the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, The chips were golden and crispy, just the way they should be. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. If you’re looking for an authentic fish and chips experience, St. Mary’s is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Staff were polite. I am rating on and ordered a piece of crumbed fish and potato scallops. Fish was pretty awful. Not fresh, had a funny taste on the fish itself and the crumb batter wasn’t any better. Potato scallops were crispy but the potato inside was quite firm so it didn’t have a nice fluffy texture. Overall I wouldn’t come back here.
The fish and chips are okay, a but overpriced. $17.90 for 4 cocktail fish chips and salad seems bit pricey considering the amount of fish and chips you get. Half of it was salad which was upsetting. Cones with free water. There is lots of tables next to it so no problem with seating. The overall stors doesn’t have good food so this place is your best bet.
Honestly, I don’t like to put a star, so I won’t put, but honestly, the taste wasn’t good, and the taste of fish was very exaggerated, and the seafood salad was not good at all. I couldn’t eat a bite of my food.
I had a burger with the lot. My wife had fish, chips and salad. Food – amazing, service – better. I have two favourite burger places.in Sydney, this is number 1. Thanks, I will be back
Good is AMANZING , always fresh cooked to profection , prices are reasonable. Taste like the original memory from childhood .
Lovely staff owner is always happy and friendly .
A++ for me .
I ordered over $60 worth of stuff only to walk home and realise that the lid to the gravy wasn’t on properly and it went all through the bag and food.
Chips were great, seafood salad was great, chicken pasta was meh and upon opening the box with the two pieces of pieces of battered fish the batter was soft and flaking off
Highly disappointed.
