About
Deep Sea Delights is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Taree, offering a solid spread of locally favoured fish varieties including flathead, barramundi, snapper, flake, mullet, and hoki. The battered fish draws consistent praise, with regulars noting how flaky and full of flavour the fillets come out. Burgers are another strong point, described as juicy and well-loaded. Portion sizes are generous, and the tartare sauce has earned its own fans.
The shop runs through brunch, lunch, and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available. Outdoor seating is on offer alongside indoor dining, and the venue is wheelchair accessible with free on-site parking. A kids’ menu makes it a practical choice for families, and the team is known for accommodating food intolerances with care. Vegetarian options are available for those not after the seafood.
Staff come across as genuinely friendly and attentive, and the kitchen turns out food that feels fresh rather than sitting under a heat lamp. The shop keeps its listed hours accurate, which sounds minor but matters when you’re making a trip across town. For anyone visiting Taree or passing through the Manning region looking for a reliable fish and chips experience, this one is worth putting on the list.

At first I wasn’t too keen to go in but my son wanted fish & chips. So we ordered a battered fish pack and I got a burger with the lot.
It turned out to be one of the best fish we’ve had. So flaky and full of flavour. My burger was juicy as. For that price, it was an absolute bargain. Will definitely go back.
Come here if you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience by staff.
The small town “rude and stressed” vibe is an embarrassment. If the owners or staff don’t want to be there on a public holiday or busy period, don’t open.
This town (20 years ago) was filled with friendly, hard-working small business owners who treated people well, generating return business year after year.
Add long wait times and missing items from the order without an apology (just a hateful glare on return to pick it up), and a trip to KFC starts to feel like a better option.
Otherwise, food is cheap, fresh and tasty preventing a 1 star rating.
Nice food options, friendly staff and excellent service that was accomodating to food intolerances. There were options to sit inside or outside not too far from the water
Despite my order looking like lasagna (it was loaded fries), the place tasted alright. From what my friends ordered, their other dishes looked more aesthetically pleasing. It was a bit of a wait to get our food but everyone’s food stayed hot even when we got home so they’re alright. Had a Pokémon gacha machine there which was pretty cool ($2).
The food is fresh , beautifully cooked and flavorsome. I highly recommend for an excellent meal your family will enjoy. THANK YOU to ALL the staff, cooks, service and Management 👍👍👍
Potentially the worst fish and chips we’ve ever had. Ordered 20 minutes ahead of time then had to wait another 15 in store while I saw half our food sit on top of the fryer going cold. Tiny bit of flake, awful potato scallop – mistaken for a hash brown, over cooked and cold chips and no mention online that the dim sim are homemade and soggy
Popped into Taree after a swim at Old Bar Beach. The only shop to actually have their hours accurate on Google.
Drove there, huge portion size, fish cocktails super fresh, cracker tartare sauce.
Pretty confident this would be the best fish and chip around the area.
Well priced little takeaway shop near the Manning River. I’ve been there a few times and it’s a bit of a hit and miss. On some days they are great and on other days they are okay. Ordered a medium chips for $7.20 great value it will feed around three adults but was a bit over cooked. Would recommend giving them a try though they make a great bacon and egg roll.
