About
Terrigal Beach Fish and Chip Co sits on the Terrigal Esplanade, making it a natural stop for visitors and locals exploring the Central Coast. The shop covers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, with outdoor seating and wheelchair-accessible facilities, and it draws a broad crowd from families and tourists through to university students.
The menu reaches beyond the standard fish and chips fare. Scallops and grilled barramundi are among the signature offerings, and the kitchen also turns out crumbed calamari, salt and pepper squid, and prawn cutlets that have drawn genuine praise. A Tuesday special featuring flathead and chips with house-made tartare sauce is a popular drawcard, and the hot and cold seafood platter, which includes fresh salad with olives and feta, appeals to those happy to spend a little more for a fuller spread. Gluten-free options are available, and regulars note the crumbed and battered seafood from that side of the menu has impressed more than a few visitors.
Standards can be inconsistent, and opinions on chip quality vary across recent visits. That said, the shop holds a solid four-plus star reputation across a substantial number of reviews, which speaks to its overall appeal as a fish and chip shop on the Central Coast. Freshness and friendly service come up regularly as positives.
Dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all make it a flexible option. Free parking is available nearby. Phone ahead during busy dinner and weekend periods.

8 Reviews on “Terrigal Beach Fish and Chip co”
Walking around Terrigal while on holiday looking for a decent place to enjoy some sea food we stumbled across Terrigal Beach Fish and Chips Co. A stones throw away from where we were staying and situated on the Esplanade this spot seemed to offer us what we were looking for. The premises although small with about 10 tables inside and more outside seemed to offer the diner a comfortable spot to enjoy fresh seafood with view of Terrigal beach thrown in for free. I chose the Barramundi with chips and my son opted to try the traditional fish and chips both excellent choices. The batter on the fish seemed to be thin and less prominent compared to what I have had before. The fresh prawns were amazing, thick in size and sweet in taste. Prices we very reasonable. A suitable choice for anyone looking to taste fresh seafood at reasonable prices.
Located at 108 Terrigal Esplanade, Terrigal, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. I was told that this was the place to come for seafood while visiting the Central Coast. People told me it was the best fish and chips in New South Wales. I wasn’t disappointed but I wouldn’t say it’s the best in NSW, I have had better. I had prawn cutlets and chips with potato scallops. There’s limited seating, probably best to take away to the beach which is just across the road. Very busy, especially on a weekend. We came on a Sunday and it was packed. The food was delicious, really glad I came.
Ticked the boxes for great, simple Fish n Chips!
The Tuesday special was $22 for two large pieces of Flat head and chips with Home made tartar sauce. We grabbed two prawns cutlets that were bang on for the taste buds too. Add in a bottle of Rose from the bottle shop at $17 and it was the best value and tastiest lunch my wife and I have grabbed for a while. Finally had our fish & chips craving satisfied ❤️
The beautiful young girl “India” behind the counter even grabbed us a a bucket of ice for our wine and some extra ice for our glasses.
The place is simple, clean and the view was lovely. Super chilled and very laid back, then again you can take any vibe wherever you go.
Two very happy customers 😀👍❤️
Wow — just wow! Unbelievable gluten-free seafood that completely blew me away. The crumbed calamari, salt and pepper squid, and baby octopus were absolutely next level crispy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. I genuinely can’t get enough!
The only tiny letdown? No gluten-free fish cocktails yet but fingers crossed they add them soon.
If you’re coeliac or gluten-sensitive, this place is a dream come true. Run, don’t walk! It’s conveniently located right across from Terrigal Beach, and you can even order and enjoy your meal right on the sand. Pure bliss.
Ordered the hot and cold platter and honestly these are the best fish and chips ever. Although it was $60 for two people, everything was delicious.
The salad has really nice dressing and super fresh with whole olives and feta.
The fish and calamari were cooked so nicely. Crispy and salty.
The oysters and prawns were very fresh and served nicely even for takeaway.
💯💯💯 will definitely come again 😁
Absolutely wonderful atmosphere delicious food and amazing customer service.
Great location with friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Food was lovely and really set the afternoon up well.
Excellent serving sizes. The food was cooked well and reasonably priced. Nice little outdoor area thats pet friendly. Staff were polite and friendly. Great experience.
This shop was once outstanding, and the original owners clearly took pride in the food they served. Unfortunately, the quality has consistently declined with each change in management.
I ordered the grilled barramundi with salad, and it was nowhere near properly cooked. The fish was poorly prepared and not enjoyable to eat. If grilled fish is listed on the menu, it should be cooked correctly. Otherwise, it should be removed before someone gets sick or until staff are properly trained on how to cook fish.
Based on this experience, this is no longer a top-quality fish and chip shop. The drop in standards is obvious, and significant improvement is needed to regain the reputation it once had.
