About
Vineyard Charcoal Chicken is a well-rated fish and chip shop serving the Vineyard community in North West Sydney, and it’s the kind of old-school takeaway spot that doesn’t try too hard but consistently delivers. The menu centres on the classics, with fish and chips as the signature, and regulars praise the crispy batter, fresh fish, and generous chip serves that don’t skimp on portion size. Potato scallops are a crowd favourite, and the food is noted for not being overly oily, which is a genuine point of difference for a traditional takeaway.
Beyond the seafood, the burgers have built a strong following of their own. Locals rate them among the best in North West Sydney, and it’s easy to see why: they’re well-stuffed, decent in size, and honestly priced. Kebabs and rissoles also feature on the menu, and the portions across the board are consistently generous for the money.
The shop caters to dine-in and takeaway customers, with casual indoor seating and outdoor seating available. It draws a busy lunchtime crowd, popular with tradies and locals looking for a solid, no-fuss meal. The staff are consistently described as friendly and quick, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a comfortable spot for families.
Free street parking out front keeps things easy. For anyone in the Vineyard area after a reliable fish and chips, this one is worth adding to the shortlist. Phone ahead during the lunch rush if you’re in a hurry.

Great food. Not super oily either. You do get your moneys worth. The portions of food is great. The people who work there are always super nice. Very friendly people.
I’ve been to this spot for a number of times now and their standard and quality of service never dissapoints.
They have quite possibly the best burgers in North West Sydney.
The burgers are pretty big and well stuffed for the price. They’re so generous and it’s always such a genuinely consistent high quality of service every single time 👏🏽
Even when it’s full during lunch hour, you will never wait too long.
Definitely my fav spot in North West Sydney
A small scale business where I invested my time, money and effortto get to last week.
But found the quality of food shocking. Especially the undercooked snitzel, undercooked chicken burger and an Okayish Potato scallop.
The service was good and the staffs were friendly. But would love to see an improvement in the food the next time I head there (if)
Very busy at lunch time.
Opens early and closes early, focusing on the local tradies and truckies.
Excellent food.
My mixed kebab must have weight 1/2 kg
The medium chips were overflowing.
On the spur of the moment, I purchased a rissole. WOW!
Really fantastic. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside.
Amazing taste with parsley bringing out the flavour. Yumm.
I haven’t had fish and chips for so long and today was the day I just had to have it over anything else. A quick search online for somewhere near me and I found this absolute gem of an old school takeaway store. It is straight out of the late 70’s early 80’s, it was like I was a kid again. The smells brough back so many memories.
The serving was large, the fish was fresh, the batter was crisp, the chips were hot and crispy, the potato scallops were awesome. I was in heaven. I haven’t had fish and chips this good in years.
The staff were very friendly, the price was reasonable and I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu.
Great food. Good prices. Nice spacious interior.
Stopped in for the first time. Had tge best burger. Will definitely be back. Thankyou
Called in as I was working out that way.
I’ve never seen anyone deep fry then grill a breaded chicken fillet before.
Place is very run down. Desperately needs a complete renovation. 24 for a meal is not exactly cheap for the quality level.
Bit disappointed & surprised how much passing trade they are getting from tradies & truckies pulling ons
