About
Levendi is a well-regarded fish and chip shop and café sitting right on Wollongong harbour, with views stretching across the water to the lighthouse and headland. The location is genuinely striking, and the outdoor seating and gently sloped grass surrounds make it a destination rather than just a quick feed stop. It opens 364 days a year, from early morning through to the afternoon or early evening depending on the season, covering breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
The food is what keeps people coming back. Fish arrives fresh and fried to a crisp, with barramundi drawing particular attention for its texture and flavour. Calamari is another highlight, regularly described as beautifully cooked, and the chips strike that satisfying balance between soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Portions are generous relative to the price, and the coffee is consistently well-regarded for a shop of this kind.
Levendi suits families well, with a kids’ menu available and full wheelchair access throughout, including the car park, entrance, seating and amenities. Dine-in, takeaway and delivery are all on offer, with no-contact delivery options available. Free parking and card payments make the visit straightforward, though a wait during busy periods is fairly common given how popular the spot has become in the Wollongong area.
With a solid reputation built across a large number of reviews, this Wollongong fish and chip shop is worth the trip from just about anywhere in the region. Phone ahead during peak meal times to get your order moving.

What a location !!!
The views are the best in Wollongong for those that appreciate the Wollongong harbour, yachts, trawler boats, lighthouse and headland and water views. Plenty of seating and gently sloped grass hills perfect for a blanket and picnic spread.
To top it off the staff are super friendly and hospital.
A big shout out to entire Levendi team. Especially like to mention Debbie (everyone’s favourite barista ☕) as well as Elaina and Elena for their bubbly energy, patience with kids, and their super smiles.
The coffee brew is super rich and aromatic. Baristas take their time to LISTEN and make your coffee EXACTLY how you want it.
Icecreams are creamy and full of real flavours.Very generous with their ice-cream servings might I add.
For such a busy and fast paced eatery, back of house and front of house are always tidy and clean, any time I’ve been.
Breakfasts and lunches have a classic and tasty homey feeling to them. These guys don’t skip on quality of products and ingredients.
Couldn’t pick a better spot in Wollongong to relax with family, kids and friends all while having access to a high standard of food and beverages ( hot and cold).
Thank you Levendi Wollongong, from me and my kids, for a consistent, and delicious experience, every time.
Best fish and chips in Australia!
Levendi serves some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in Australia. The food looks amazing and tastes even better; big portions at a good price. I especially loved the hot and crispy barramundi fish and chips, and the shrimp and imitation crab salad was super fresh and tasty. The drinks were great too, and the service was excellent!
There are plenty of outdoor seats with a lovely view, but be careful; the seagulls and pigeons can be quite aggressive, so don’t leave your food unattended! Overall, highly recommend for a delicious and satisfying meal by the water.
Delicious! Fish was fresh, fried calamari was divine and chips were a perfect blend of soft and crunchy. Not to mention the view here is spectacular on a sunny day and there is plenty of seating available.

Legends Wollongong’s
A truly wonderful experience. The fish and chips were beautifully fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside — honestly some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The coffee was also excellent, smooth and rich, just the way it should be.
The staff were friendly, humble, and welcoming, which made the visit even better. A simple meal done perfectly with great service. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff
Delicious fish & chips, my husband also enjoyed his beef burger.
Prices are very reasonable, beautiful location by the water, it was New Year’s Day with lines out the door but staff are so quick and attentive and orders were filled at great pace.
Levendi is a takeaway seafood shop right on the beach with a slick service operation. Queues can be long but they take orders quickly and get people to wait outside. Your order number is called over a PA system when it is time to pickup. We did wait over 20 mins for our food but they were busy and it was lunchtime peak.
I ordered a salt and pepper squid box ($16) which was shockingly large portion size. It also included the lemon and tartare sauce container. The squid was tender and tasty. Couldn’t finish all the chips. Chips could have done with a bit more chicken salt.
Also ordered a regular sized seafood salad for $12. They were not stingy with the prawns!! It was tabouli like salad with a lemon vinegar dressing. Nice healthy option. Table seating outdoors was all full but plenty of space on the lawns.
Levendi represents excellent value for money. Only suggestion to have a combo that includes a can of drink, eg, add a drink +$3.
Be careful with the seagulls, saw one poor punter have a fish cocktail snatched from their hands en route to their mouths!
Great spot elevated above the harbour. We got one of the packs to share and liked some things but not others. Usually a line to wait then obnoxiously loud numbers are called out which is not particularly relaxing. You are potentially waiting 3 times here: once to order, once to nab a table, and a final time for the food to come. Chips seemed to be double fried which I liked but some people don’t.
Fish and chips were okay. Service was a touch cold.
Nice outdoor seating with great views. But no high chair for younger kids
There’s supposed to be an accessible toilet right behind but it’s out of order
