the chips, cheese and gravy are fantastic coming out fresh and the cheese just starting to melt. The burgers have are huge and this size of the plate. If your after a filling meal then I suggest ordering a hamburger with the lot. The only down side is there could be a little less lettuce but over all great. Service was on point with friendly staff and the fast service with a short wait for a meal.
Great Fish and Chips and amazing service! We ordered the seafood for one to share. The woman serving us made a note of the fact we were sharing on the order slip and when the food arrived we noticed they had added an extra piece of fish? Thank you so much!
Great fish and chips located in Atherton. Plenty of free street parking outside the restaurant. The staff is friendly and nice.
Ordered a barramundi fish and chips. The portion was big and the price wasn’t too expensive. About the standard.
Didn’t wait too long for the food to arrive. The fish was good but the chips were just a bit disappointing. Not quite my taste. Maybe I’m not a fan of fat chips.
Overall it is just okay, but it is just my own personal preference for the chips. But great service tho.
Pretty good, but their prices keep raising by a dollar every now and then, burgers are amazing but its starting to not be worth it.. greedy, i wouldnt be surprised if they go out of business in a few years lol, also should add the total to the end of online orders especially first time buyers because ow!!
We have spent many years enjoying the Fish & Chips here. Unfortunately it is no longer a “local fish & chips” – its now best categorised as a “tourist trap”.
A simple family fish and chips takeaway from L&B used to come in around $50. Now the same Spanish mackerel (otherwise known as Australian Tilapia) fish & chips family pack (take away), two potato scollops plus a single drink can push over $90.
…. You read correctly. For the same price as two mains (incl a steak), and two kids meals at souths, you too can own four tiny, flaccid par cooked fish bits, a few squid rings, and various par-cooked parts of a potato.
I wont lie, the potato scollops/cakes appear house made, and around the normal price.
It is unfortunate, however having been a customer every weekend for over 10 years, we wont be back. Its would be cheaper to uber eats the same meal from Cairns than order from here, if they delivered that far.
For reference, I asked my wife if this was too harsh prior to posting – I was instructed it was perhaps too nice. For reference, im told the same meal from Muddies (Cairns esplanade / prime tourist area) would be a touch more expensive… when ordered twice.

L&Bs Fish and Chips in Atherton deserves a solid five-star rating! The food is absolutely fantastic. The chips, cheese, and gravy combo is a must-try—it’s incredibly delicious!
The fish here is something special it’s genuinely the best fish I have ever eaten. It’s always fresh, perfectly cooked, and the fish wraps are one of my favourites.
The cook out the back does an amazing job consistently delivering top-notch food. Staff are always very nice. Highly recommended!
Great food and great service. I had a fantastic burger that was really fresh and tasty and washed it down with a double sarsparilla!
