The fish & chips here are PERFECT.
It’s far enough away that it doesn’t get all the tourism, but perfectly close enough for a stop in on the way to the beach. The staff are lovely. We were looking for a place close to Sea Life with good reviews, but I was not expecting it to be THIS good. The calamari was flawless. I’ll be coming back here whenever I’m nearby!
The best spot on the coast for chips and burgers, old school, great portions and with the love in every meal you just don’t come across much these days. Love this place to bits! Lollies, Ice-cream, essentials and the best tuckerbox around! 🙂
Love this place! Felt like going back in time to the vibes of my childhood fish and chip shop. 10/10 recommend. Staff were great and the little time we had to wait for our order was worth it as the food was spot on! Amazing chips, our kids loved it too!
We are locals and frequent the cool spot. And I can’t say enough good points about this old fashioned T/Away. Like everybody else it reminds me of my childhood corner store. I have been in the Hospo industry for 32 years and have to say the cleanliness is amazing. And food is always fresh and tasty.
Hands down, best calimari I’ve had from a fish and chip shop. I love this place. It’s as Aussie as it gets, feels somewhat nostalgic on every visit, and the staff are friendly. Feels good supporting local small business too! Eat here!
Unfortunately very disappointing experience.
I ordered a burger and chips along with a fish and chips. The wait time was over 45 minutes even though the place was not busy at all. When the food was finally handed over, it had clearly been sitting for quite a while as the chips and fish were cold and soggy. The burger was very dry. The order was obviously forgotten. Sauce was also missing. Also no lemon came with the fish – not sure if that was an oversight or common at this restaurant. The vibe of the place was nice but the food was bad.

the lady working was very friendly and warm. the store was clean, and you can tell they value family and community. chips were excellent enjoyed on the beach with the sea breeze and my boyfriend (great company, great chips)
We bought our fish, chips and burgers from here last night and woukd totally recommend the food and particularly the service. (the fish was perfect. Not greasy and beautiful batter) Nothing was a problem to the lady serving us (6 of us) she was so lovely. What a great shop. Will definitely be back.
