We were going for a walk along the bay when we felt like grabbing a coffee. Second time coming here. Options to dine inside the restaurant or sit at the tables outside. Awesome position in close proximity to the water. They have a water bowl for dogs outside. l normally get a hot coffee, but today, I opted for an iced coffee with oat milk and ice cream. My finance got a large flat white. We chose to take away our drinks so we could continue walking by the water. My drink only came in one size & was tasty.
On this occasion it was too much for me and I couldn’t finish it. Haven’t tried the food here before. Maybe next time.
Under staffed, as a result it was slightly grubby and I received grumpy service from one staff member (other good).
Small portion of bacon and eggs $16. $3 surcharge for a single slice of GF white bread so I declined. Coffee was fine.
Only waterfront cafe in the area.

Sitting on the verandah on the oceann front watching the mass of Swans happily feeding in there play ground of the grass ocean floor.
Beautiful catching the morning sun with the Best Afrogatto made and presented by a young bubbly girl. Magic .

A very lovely spot by the water. They were busy and the young girls working the counters were fantastic. We ordered the eggs (scrambled) on sourdough and the Bacon and eggs (fried) on sourdough. Both were tasty and bacon cooked crispy to the order. Prices were reasonable. Sourdough bread was over toasted but overall, it was a good breakfast after a walk along the Deception Bay waterfront.
We only went here as Zesty Lemon was closed. I’d never go again! I ordered a large latte for my friend & a mug of hot water for myself. The grumpy girl behind the counter tried to charge me $12.50. I’ve never been charged for water before. Yet happy to pay toward the washing & service. Just not the same price as a coffee. So helped myself to a glass of cold water.
We decided not to have brunch as planned. My friend is in hospitality at a popular restaurant & couldn’t believe it. She treats every customer warmly & as a valuable person.
If we liked the place I’d go back for breakfast regularly. Hubby & I often bike past. Yet I’d never stopped again!
I’ll stick to my regular places in Redcliffe where there is a smile & lovely vibes & service & complimentary hot water.
The place is a bit grotty anyway. Needs an uplift & there’s no lovely cakes to gaze at in the cabinet. Not a good experience 🥲
Didn’t see the Cafe behind this. No regrets! Meal was awesome, even with all my dietry amendments. Cheffy even came out to check if I’d like spinach added (didn’t charge me). Full, I wandered out and discovered the place at the back, but a quick beverage price enquiry had me straight back to Mermaids where I paid $2.40 LESS for the same drink. Kind and accommodating. Lovely water or park views. Plenty of room.

it was my first time. loved it so much. such a gem of a place that it really makes me wonder why not more people were there… actually it’s made me a little sad…
home made food that is just plain tasty… and the service was beyond good. be back soon 🙏
