About
Marzay’s Corner is a well-rated fish and chip shop in Home Hill, in Queensland’s Burdekin region, serving up a menu that goes well beyond the basics. Fresh fish and chips are the heart of the operation, and the homemade potato scallops have earned a loyal following among locals and visitors alike. The chips are a reliable draw, and the seafood basket gets strong mentions for quality and freshness.
What makes Marzay’s Corner a little different from a typical North Queensland fish and chip shop is the pizza side of the menu. The prawn pizza in particular draws attention for its generous toppings and well-balanced flavour, with a crust that hits the mark between crispy and soft. Traditional pepperoni pizza is also on offer for those keeping it simple.
The venue has a casual, welcoming atmosphere with outdoor seating available, and it’s set up well for families and groups. Dine-in and takeaway are both catered for, with kerbside pickup and free parking making the visit easy. Wheelchair access is provided, which is a handy detail for those planning ahead.
Service can vary depending on when you visit, so phoning ahead for larger orders during busy periods is a sensible move. If you’re passing through Home Hill or exploring the Burdekin, Marzay’s Corner is worth a stop. Check opening hours below before making the trip.

We recently visited Marzay’s Corner and tried their prawn pizza. The pizza was delicious, with a generous amount of prawns and a well-balanced flavor that made each bite enjoyable. The crust was just the right amount of crispy and soft, complementing the toppings perfectly.
What made the experience even better was the helpful staff. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a great spot for a quick and tasty meal!
Immediately the warm and welcoming vibe was amazing, I felt at home. The menu had such a great variety, there is something for everyone. My partner had the seafood basket, he described it as fresh, cooked well and extremely tasty. I had a classic hamburger, my goodness it was one of the best I’ve had. The meat was cooked beautifully and the vegetables were super crisp and fresh. Truly lovely. The customer service was met with a smile and patience when we were choosing from the menu. I would recommend this place for a variety of reasons. Definitely going to become a favourite of mine!
Throw me a robe and drag me to church, because I’ve been baptised by the holy delicacies of Marzay’s Corner ✨️👌🏼 Do not miss this place if you’re visiting the Burdekin.
If you want to be greeted with agitated and rude staff members, this is the place.
Right from the phone call placing the order, lady on the phone was quick with short and blunt responses sounding impatient.
I asked to pay for the food early and was understanding they had not started cooking as of yet, staff member had the eyes rolling, huffing and puffing by having to punch in my order.
Not a single nice greeting or smile from any staff member. Food was just as bland as their attitude.
Hearing other remarks about this place from Family, sums up local Burdekin mentality and it showed being in store.
The Food is excellent BUT the phone ordering system is TERRIBLE! Takes 5-10 calls just to get though to someone to order, and when you get through you can’t hear anything past the line static. An online ordering system would make this 100 times better and more efficient on their end.
Just ate at Marzay’s Corner — grabbed a pizza made by this fantastic young Asian guy, served by another friendly young muscular Asian lad. Then a young white bloke came out with this very peculiar white sauce for my pizza. Strange combo, but honestly, the whole experience was brilliant. Would definitely eat here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Had a mate rate the place as best burgers in the Burdekin so I thought I’d give it a go and the burger looked great, with the first bite it tasted a little off so I pulled it apart to find my steak was off.
Do yourself a favour and head here for fresh fish, yummy chips, the best home-made potatoe scallops (omg next level 😋) and the best pizza 🍕 (must’ve been cause I even ate it cold the next day). Staff are wonderful 😊
