About
Krispy Catch is a casual dine-in and takeaway fish and chip shop in Labrador, Queensland, serving up lunch and dinner with a retro 70s-style approach to the classics. Free parking and wheelchair accessibility make it easy for everyone to visit, and the relaxed atmosphere suits solo diners and families equally well. A kids’ menu adds extra appeal for those bringing the little ones along.
The menu leans into the old-school spirit without cutting corners. Crumbed snapper and chips is a favourite among regulars, and the flake, cut long and generously portioned, is fairly priced for what you get. Burgers are a genuine highlight here, with the Lot Queenslander earning consistent praise for its size and value. Steak burgers also draw people back time and again.
The owner and staff are a big part of why Krispy Catch has built such a strong reputation among locals on the Gold Coast. The atmosphere is welcoming from the moment you walk in, the kitchen keeps a steady pace, and the food is consistently well-executed. Reservations are available for groups, though walk-ins are handled with the same warmth.
Few fish and chip shops in Labrador carry this combination of quality seafood, honest burgers, and friendly service under one roof. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to avoid a wait.

Poor customer service, absolute rip off .
Called to let them know they once again forgot my $6 gravy and got told ‘ oh well get it next time’ …if I bloody wanted it next time , I’d buy it next time wouldn’t I??
This is $15 worth of chips ! What an absolute joke
The sandwich board advertising ‘70’s style fish & chips’ got us in, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! My husband got The Lot QLD Burger & LOVED it!! I got the crumbed snapper & chips & they were delicious. We felt so welcome as soon as we walked in the door, Matthew & Fraser were so delightful & friendly, they felt like old friends. Then we opened up our package when we got home to find two pineapple fritters as a surprise – so so kind!
We’ll definitely be back, thank you team!
Great local fish n chips + burger shop.
Owner and staff are always friendly, kitchen is always cooking hard. Everything I have had is great as far as the type of food it is goes, the flake is a nice long cut and fairly priced aswell, rarer sight these days. Chip servings could be a tad more generous, but I get it.
Found these guys whilst driving around and decided to get lunch! honestly best service and feed you could ask for! Definitely will be going back!! so friendly and up for a good chat! Best steak burgers we have had in a long time!
Krispy Catch is a good value, decent local fish chippery. The batter is tasty and light, with a good level of crispness to it. As it’s light, it doesn’t hold up so well for distance travel so you’re best to eat it as soon as possible. The battered scallops were tasty with the orange roe kept in place. The chips are well cooked as well which was a bonus with a decent topping of salt over all.
I walk here irregularly. I have never had a bad bite!!! The boss is lovely and the kid staff are awesome little legends. I massively respect who makes these burgers. Their ‘Lot Queenslander’ is so thick and juicy for its price, I love it. Favourite by far. SUPPORT LOCAL!
The best ‘hidden’ local Fish n Chippie north of Labrador. The fish and chips certainly are tastier and crunchier compared with Charis down the road. Oh, and the burgers are excellent too! I thoroughly recommend the service with a smile.
I found this chippy on the way home a couple of months ago. Since then I’ve been back regularly, it’s exactly what you want from a local business. Good food. Good service.
I’m hooked! I will leave Charis to the tourists, this chippy is a good honest choice for locals and what you expect. Not been disappointed in the serves to date. An indulgent, budget-friendly periodic treat. I love it!
