What a hidden gem! My mother told me a new fish and chip shop has just opened and that they are very good. What an understatement! I went today and had the pleasure of meeting Mitra. He’s from the north of India and he is one of the friendliest and interesting guys I’ve met. He is a Swiss trained chef so we are lucky to have him. I ordered snapper and chips. My picture is one piece of snapper that he kindly cut it in half. It was super crunchy and clean, crisp batter. It’s the best around town! Very generous chips, cooked perfectly. He also does Curries. He cooked ha up a bit to sample it was Excellent.
Amazing hidden gem! We stopped by after a fishing trip (ironically we caught no fish 🤣) and were blown away by the service, the owner and his son were so welcoming and accommodating. They even gave us a free sample of their 15-hour steak, which was incredibly tender and full of flavour. A must-try!
The fish batter was unique and delicious, everything tasted super fresh, the buffalo wings and salt & pepper calamari was juicy and so good. Oh and their homemade tartare and gravy – chefs kiss! 🤌
Honestly one of the best fish & chip experiences we’ve had! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to everyone 💖
We stumbled on this place while looking for a decent local take-away. Hands down the best steak sandwich I’ve had in a long time. Huge portion, everything cooked perfectly and all at a better than reasonable price. We will definetly be eating here again.
I don’t usually write reviews, but my recent experience deserves one! Last Thursday marked our first visit, and I must say, the fish and chips were absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, and the portion size was generous.
Manuel provided exceptional service, being incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our meal. His attentiveness made our visit even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy fish and chips & great food and a warm atmosphere. Can’t wait to return!

If it wasn’t for the previous reviews, we honestly wouldn’t have stopped at Mitra Manuel’s Fish and Chips, and I’m so glad we did.
Being from New Zealand, I’ve struggled to find proper NZ-style fish and chips here in Australia. This is the closest dupe I’ve found….. and it absolutely hits.
The battered snapper is soft, flaky and worth every cent. The NZ Hoki is right up there too, perfectly cooked and fresh. And the tartare sauce? So good!
I’m from the north side of Brisbane and we’ll definitely be stopping in every time we’re in the area.
Hats off to the chef and the friendly customer service is amazing. I almost wanted to gatekeep this little gem… but it’s too good not to share!
If you love good tunes and rugby talk to go with your kai kai…. this is the spot to be.

Steak sandwich was also amazing with incredibly tender steak.
The buffalo wings are amazing, chicken cooked so well the chicken falls off the bone, the flavour of the sauce is very tastey with a mild spice level. Owner can make it hotter at request. Service is great, very polite 👌
