About
Kaan’s Kebabs Fish & Chips in Manoora, Queensland, pulls off the rare trick of doing two things very well at once. The menu spans classic fish and chips alongside a strong kebab lineup, with lamb and beef kebabs drawing plenty of praise from regulars who rate them among the best they’ve had. The kebabs are generously loaded with fresh vegetables, and the tabouli has developed a loyal following of its own. Chips come out seasoned with chicken salt and served in portions that genuinely satisfy, with the option to add gravy on the side.
The shop is halal-certified and family-friendly, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available for lunch and dinner. Free parking makes it a practical choice, and the rooftop and outdoor seating areas give the venue a bit more character than your average Cairns-area fish and chip shop. Late-night food is also on offer, which fills a gap in the local area. Staff come up regularly in feedback as friendly and welcoming, and the venue itself is kept tidy.
Value for money is a genuine theme here. Portions are generous, pricing is reasonable, and the quality is consistent enough that first-timers tend to return. For anyone looking for fish and chips near Manoora with a solid kebab option alongside, this one is worth keeping on the list.

I’d rate kaans 6 stars if it was an option. Absolutely hit the spot and very reasonable price. They put a really good amount of veg in the kebab which was awesome ( some places are pretty stingy with the veg). Beautiful tabouli flavour through the whole thing. And a real decent amount of meat (see pic). The guy working there was really friendly too and even brought the kebabs to us. The tables were clean, and the shop looked hygienic. Would eat here again.
I was looking for a decent fish & chips with a salad for supper. Came across Kaan’s and checked out their menu. Decided on a battered mackerel. The meal took some time to come out which I didn’t mind. I rather wait for my food then have it come out quickly. The portions were very generous and the fish was soft and juicy. The owner couple were very gracious and friendly.
I got the small chips sprinkled with chicken salt and a side of gravy. The chips were tasty, and the serving size was quite generous. The shop was tidy, and the gentleman who helped me was really friendly.
Seriously so many kebab places to choose from, but this one is definitely it for me 👌
Fresh yummy and well and truly good value 😋
Honestly best kebab ive had in over 10 years. Had the lamb and beef kebabs and was absolutely delicious 😋 count ask for anything better. Highly recommend and will let people know about this place
Should have gone to Mc Donalds next door. $18 for a kebab add a can of coke and its $24.75 I though ok The kebab must be worth it. Well it wasnt, it was 90% salad and a bit of meet down the middle. McDonalds meals are actually better value, by a long shot compared to this place.
The best kebab shop in cairns hands down. Well over sized portions of chips, kebab absolutely filled with PERFECT amount of sauce and the takeaway on packing 10/10 had my chips wrapped with the gravy the consideration is from the heart!
We purchases kebabs from here and all had mould on the wraps. I had eaten some before I noticed and the other people with me looked at there’s and noticed more as-well. Super concerning that all 3 had mould.
EDIT*
I’ve uploaded a few more photos as I received a reply from the owners claiming I’m being untruthful. I have videos showing greater detail I can provide, not that the owners seem to care about what they served. It was ordered off uber eats as a work lunch for us all so we were not able to leave to take it back. We received a refund from uber so didn’t bother to drive back and take in the kebabs, which after how this had been handled I really wish we did. I thought it would be a good idea to warn people as I did consume these contaminated areas. Due to the rude response and lack of accountability the health department will be contacted to investigate this further. Such a shame that as a small business ourselves we understand the negative impact this can have, however your lack of care to acknowledge what happened deserves further inquest.
