About
Broughy’s Seafood is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Nerang, tucked into Earl Plaza on the corner of Price and White Streets. With a solid reputation built across a good number of reviews, it’s the kind of casual, unpretentious spot that locals and passing visitors return to regularly.
The menu covers the classics done well. The Fisherman’s Basket is a highlight, coming loaded with calamari rings, fish bites, crab stick, and sea scallop. Regulars also favour the fish burger, and the chips are known for being a generous serve. One thing that gets consistent praise is the quality of the oil, with the food tasting fresh and clean, a detail that matters more than it might seem. Potato scallops are another menu favourite, reasonably priced and cooked to a consistent standard.
Families are well catered for, with a kids’ menu available alongside dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options. Outdoor seating is on hand for those who prefer eating al fresco, and the venue is fully wheelchair-accessible. Service is described as kind and prompt, with the kitchen turning out fresh food at a pace that suits a lunch or dinner stop. Free parking is available nearby, and card and mobile payments are accepted.
Broughy’s Seafood is open for lunch and dinner. Phone ahead during busy periods to avoid a wait.

Stupidly over priced for the quality of the food. Burger paddy looks like it is a shop brought frozen paddy. Tomato on the burger had an end piece. Chips, 2 scallops, 2 Pluto pups and 2 battered savs and a hamburger for a little over $75, I don’t think I was wrong with expecting some good takeaway, I wouldn’t pay $20 for what I got. Shop somewhere else.
Broughy’s Seafood is a real gem of a Fish and Chip shop.
Located within Earl Plaza. On the corner of Price and White Streets Nerang.
Had the Fisherman’s Basket. Which includes 4x Calamari Rings, 4x Fish Bites, Crab Stick, Sea Scallop & Chips.
A Very Generous serving for $19.90 !!
All was cooked perfectly. With one of the Best Sea Scallops I’ve had.
Will Definitely be coming back.
Great place well priced and food was awesome, service was tops highly recommend will stop by again on way past next time.
Thank you
It’s just good value, fish and potato scallops tasted like they were cooked in clean oil and were enjoyable. Price was more than reasonable. It’s better than most fish and chips shops we have visited.
Great fish burger, loved it, and the grandson loved his hamburger. Good value and fresh, no old smelling oils in the shop (always a red flag for me)
Was excellent 👌 👏

Used to be good, now you would get better value on chips at HJ drive thru.
Like most fish n chips, the greed on simple potatoes will kill the aussie fish n chip shops.
Carry on failing – you are not aline.
Great spot to stop for lunch. Had a fish burger with egg and a small serving of chips which turned out to be a generous portion. The chef really did serve well, kind and quick. The food was fresh, delicious and well prepared, a welcoming atmosphere to sit in a quiet outside setting and enjoy the food in peace 🙏🏽
My wife ordered me the “Barramundi & Chips” it was served fast enough yet when I opened the bag the barra was so thin it looked like a piece of crumbed cardboard,it was so thin it looked like it had been shaved on a deli slicer, literally so thin it looked like it was subjected to an involuntary 30 day fasting protocol prior to processing, after removing some crumb coating you could see through the fillet I couldn’t stop laughing that a “fish & chip” shop had the audacity to serve this in the first place,it would appear the only unmolested fish served from this premises these days is cheap & tasteless imported basa.
Never again….
