Completely delicious battered fish both the mackerel and barrimundi were great although I liked the mackerel a bit more. 1/4 scoop of chips was more than enough for me and a good sized filet. Close to the strand and an easy quick bite
Staying on holiday from Cairns around the corner and found this great Fish and Chips Takeaway. Even though we have stayed here numerous times we wanted to try this place as it was close and the reviews were great.
Glad we did. We were so happy with what we ordered. Heaps of people waiting for orders which we thought was a good sign as they were busy. The service was so friendly and warming. Fish was large, cooked perfectly, delicious and the chip portions were so generous and the price was fantastic. Took me back to the 80’s as a kid. Worth the wait and I can see us coming back before we go home and when we come back again.

After searching on Google, we knew we’d found the right place when we saw the long line outside.
The lady at the counter was very patient and friendly in explaining the product, noting that the chips portion might be much larger than we expected (even though we ultimately overestimated our appetite).
The steak lot burger was incredibly delicious and huge, the barra and calamari rings were also fresh and tasty. The chips were my favorite of the trip so far.
Delicious, massive portion, and very good price. I clearly happened apon a local gem. I was greeted warmly and clearly there is a lot of great rapport between this lovely team and the community. I got the Barra and chips in a gluten free batter (huge win there) with the chicken salt. Crispy and light batter, lots of perfectly cooked fish, and delicious chips. Exactly what you want. Take these to go and eat on the strand at sunset for the perfect meal.

Grilled fish was the best I’ve had in Townsville, however the customer service is another thing. When I ordered in store l, I proceeded to tell the girl that their phone may not be working as I rung several times and it was constantly engaged across a long period (another gentleman confirmed later it didn’t work for him either ) and that they would be missing orders (as to inform them of lost business). She then took my order , we even joked about the barramundi being more $, and all was fine. Then to my shock; the owner comes out 15 minutes later and told me not to attack her staff…
Like what the … the irony was she was attacking a customer who actually didn’t attack her staff at all. Great service. Won’t be back. A shame as the food was good. Please teach your staff to learn what attacking means before accusing innocent customers. I was conflicted about posting this but I’ve never been spoken to like that for absolutely no reason in my life.
This place, has the best food!! The serving sizes are outstanding, for the price you pay it’s worth it!! But the girls at Fish n Chip Delights always smiling a very friendly.. best spot in town..
Always exceptional service by nice genuine people. Beautiful food and the portion is large for a family. Would 100% recommend! Definitely great value for money and quality is far better than the neighboring stores.
