About
Studio Village Takeaway is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Oxenford, Queensland, drawing regulars and passing travellers alike with consistently high-quality food and generous serving sizes. The batter here has earned a genuine reputation, with many who visit describing it as some of the best they’ve had, and more than a few locals returning week after week. Prices are considered fair for the quality on offer, and portions are the kind that leave people satisfied rather than reaching back into the bag.
The menu keeps things honest and focused. Hot chips, potato scallops, crumbed calamari, fried dim sims, hoki, and fish cocktail pieces are among the confirmed highlights. It’s the sort of spread that nods to classic Australian takeaway tradition, and plenty of locals say it brings back memories of the chip shops they grew up with.
Kevin, the owner, runs the kitchen with a clear commitment to getting every order right, often working solo through the service. That hands-on approach comes through in the food itself. The shop is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday afternoons also available and Tuesday closed. Dine-in and takeaway are both welcome, outdoor seating is on hand, and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible. A kids’ menu makes it a solid choice for families, and free parking is available on-site and along the street.
Studio Village Takeaway holds a strong reputation among fish and chips spots in the Oxenford area, and it’s the kind of place that turns first-time visitors into regulars. Check opening hours before heading out, as times vary across the week.

Bit of hit and miss. Some meals have been okay and some not. Photo of my last meal. Chips were good. Hot dog was a bit disappointing.
Enjoyed our visit! Fish and chips were great and calamari was delicious 😊 We’ll definitely be dining again
Was told was a 30min wait which was ok for fri night. 40min later got food.
Was asked if wanted normal salt or chicken so opted for chicken, but chips had nothing on them and soggy. Potato fritters were tiny! Fish was soggy and very thin…more batter then fish.
Definitely wont go again, obviously not a kiwi fish n chips shop! Im not fussy with food but stuggled to eat it.
All the food here is soooo good, this guy makes number one batter. I salivate just thinking of his fish and chips. Seriously
AMAZING, I had to call the shop after I ate to tell them it was the best fish and chips I’ve had ever
Stopped here on a whim during our travels and were delighted with our food! The gentleman working here on his own was working so hard and made sure everything was to the best standard. He unfortunately ran out of 1 item we ordered, so asked us what we could swap it for free of charge and threw in 2 extra scallops for us. Very kind man! Food was beautiful too. Thank you
Kevin who owns the shop is an amazing chef and a super lovely bloke, ive been coming here for years and i will be many more 🥰
We live locally and thought we’d check this place out last night. We were blown away with the quality of the food, the prices and serving sizes. It was very nostalgic and reminded us of the takeaway shops we loved growing up. Everything was delicious and great value for money. We will definitely be back!
