About
Stafford Seafood is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Stafford community in northern Brisbane, open seven days a week for both dine-in and takeaway. The menu centres on fresh, well-prepared seafood, with battered cod and chips as the signature dish. Barramundi, calamari rings, dim sims, and potato scallops round out a solid lineup that keeps regulars coming back.
The chips here have earned a strong reputation on their own. Cooked to order and consistently crispy, the serves are generous compared to many places in the area, and nothing arrives greasy or heavy. The battered fish carries the same attention, with a light, golden crust that lets the quality of the catch do the talking. Potato scallops are a particular favourite among locals, mentioned time and again as a reason to visit.
Service is friendly and efficient, the shop is clean and casual, and free on-site parking makes the visit easy. Wheelchair access is available, and a kids’ menu makes it a practical choice for families. Pricing is reported as reasonable across the board. The shop has seen a recent change in ownership, and the current team appears to be maintaining the standards that have kept Stafford Seafood popular for decades.
For anyone in the Stafford area after a reliable fish and chips meal, this one has a solid four-plus star reputation built on honest serves and consistent quality. Check opening hours below before making the trip.

Ordered online and the prices are more expensive that’s ok for the convenience- no convenience ordered for 6pm pickup and didn’t get my food until 6:30.
I entered the shop at 5:54 and was told it wasn’t ready, all good. Went to the car for 2 minutes, returned and stood/sat in the store waiting. I’ve attached the picture I took when texting a friend about the fact I was waiting so long. That was 6:19 and doesn’t support your ‘camera review’
This place deserves more than 4.1 stars. Chips cooked perfectly and a fair amount compared to others in the area. Fish was beautiful and even the batterd sav omg, this is our 2nd trip here, It definitely won’t be the last.
If your craving the staple takeaway that we all love, make the trip here, I honestly know you won’t be disappointed 😎😎👍
Great friendly customer service, Very reasonably priced
Excellent battered fish, potato scallops and chips
Friendly and efficient customer service, excellent cod in crispy batter, great chips freshly made potato scallops and many other items – no oily or greasey food. The best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. Thankyou
I have been going to this place for a long time, being happy with food and service.
Last night after getting home I saw 1 of the pieces of fish I ordered was in 2 pieces, the end skinny tail end.
I did ring to let them know of my disappointment. They told me they did weigh the same, but no way! I was crunching through my dinner while my husband sat there sliding his knife through a lovely thick piece of barramundi.
I’m going to have to find a new fish and chip shop.
Great food by the new owners, and the shop looks amazing BUT two teenagers fighting at the counter and yelling at each is not great. The young man was in a green shirt. The young lady was in a black shirt. This was Thursday 12/2 at 5.30pm.
It’s not very professional and made me feel uncomfortable. Please train them to take their squabbles away from in plain view of your customers
But food is great !!!
Been going to Stafford Rd Seafood my whole life, as a kid in the 90s we’d ride our bikes down and get $2 chips and potato scallops. Over 30 years later, still love going here. Best fish and chips shop anywhere, hands down.
You do have to wait quite a bit to get your food I had one of the hot dogs the American hotdog is really good expect the really expensive hot dogs which cost more but doesn’t taste as good.
