About
The Silver Plate is a combined café and fish and chip takeaway in Sunnybank Hills, Queensland, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner across dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options. The venue has outdoor seating, is fully wheelchair accessible, and welcomes families, making it a flexible spot for a casual meal any day of the week.
The menu covers a fair spread of comfort food. The signature dish is chevapi, and the shop also does coffee and caters to vegetarians.
The fried chicken draws steady praise from regulars, who rate it well above fast-food alternatives and appreciate the generous portion sizing on the chicken plates. The chevapi also collects its share of fans. Service experiences appear to vary depending on who is behind the counter on a given day, and a handful of diners have found some serves on the smaller side for the price point.

Love love love this place! So much better than kfc! The owner is a very lovely man that always remembers us. We always come here if we have to dry our clothes at the laundry next door. Best fried chicken in town! Even their breakfast bacon eggs and toast is to die for! Always like to bring my friends and family here! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend.
Works burger meal $14. Burger was great, chips were decent but a very small serving size. Service from the lady was very lacking. Service from the man was pretty good however he charged me 50c more than the price on the board because the cans had gone up or something. Store is nice and spacious with 6 small tables out. Price was reasonable just wish their menus were accurate.
Their fried chicken are dinger-licking delicious! I’m so obsessed. The price are very reasonable – only $10 for 3 big chicken piece.
The lady and the gentleman are lovely and welcoming 🙂
Best food, friendly workers, great family deal. The services and the place is brilliant.
Worst place in Brisbane for fish and chips, my husband and I got a seafood basket with about ten chips (which the basa was like a frozen fish from the supermarket)snapper that was over cooked. Two calamari and a prawn cutlet.
Wow, how can you call this a seafood basket, it’s a tint snack pack at best, high prices tiny servings
Wouldn’t recommend went to go try their pork roll and chicken and chips, got given the worst chips I’ve ever had the pork roll was cold and was even asked if I wanted it warm completely disregarded. Waste of $30 for two pieces of chicken and a pork roll with a handful of chips, disturbing.
The fish and chips portion was so small. Not worth the $20 I paid. Don’t waste your money on the extra small portions. RIP OFF!
