Not sure what’s going on here lately, used to be great, but now it feels like they’re deep frying everything in the same oil since last summer. My seafood basket came out looking suspiciously dark and unwell, and the scallops tasted foul. Didn’t want to cause a scene, so I just let the bin enjoy them instead. Bit of a heartbreak, honestly!
I recently visited HighTide Northpoint, and I can confidently say it was one of the best fish and chips experiences I’ve had in a long time! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff ready to make you feel right at home.
The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. The batter was light, golden, and had just the right amount of crunch. You can tell they use high-quality fish because it tasted so fresh. The chips were equally impressive – golden, crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside. They paired wonderfully with the tangy tartar sauce that had a nice hint of lemon.
What really stood out to me was the portion size; generous enough to leave you satisfied without feeling like you overate. The service was quick, and our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations from the menu.
I also loved that the restaurant offered a few different sides and sauces to enhance the meal, like mushy peas and curry sauce – a nice touch to elevate the classic dish. Plus, they offer a cozy, relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for a casual dinner or even a meal with family and friends.

You can’t beat the snapper & chips deal for $12.50. So fresh. We got 2 packs for us. One was grilled & other was crumbed. My crumbed portion was very crunchy. The grilled was delicious. Adequate serve of chips.
My friend is visiting from New Zealand so I took him to Hightide so he could try the fish. He was apsolutely blown away with the flavour of the fish and he said it reminded him of the fish back at home. Grilled Cod and chips. The service was amazing and we will be back before he goes back home. Thankyou Hightide, you never let me down
Honestly some of the best fish and chips we’ve had in a while snapper and barramundi both cooked perfectly and the chips were cooked exactly how I like them. The staff were amazing and provided great service. Highly recommended 👌
Each time i come in the ladies are always so loving and there always remembering my name that make me feel like family. Each time I get food there always remember what I get and make me feel special. I really like the manager she is so lovely and sweet
