About
Fresh Katch Seafood is a takeaway and delivery fish and chip shop in Wilsonton, Queensland, with a menu built around classic Australian favourites. Potato scallops are the signature item, and the shop also serves fish, chips, prawn poppers, and hamburgers. It’s open for both lunch and dinner, with free parking available on-site.
The food is generally solid for a casual meal. Crumbed fish gets a positive mention from regulars, and the chips are well regarded. Families are well catered for, with a kids’ menu and a friendly, accommodating approach to larger groups. Card and mobile payments are accepted, making it a convenient stop for anyone around Wilsonton looking for fish and chips near me.
It is worth noting that some recent feedback points to inconsistency, particularly around portion sizes and cooking times. The hamburgers have drawn mixed comments from long-time visitors, with some feeling the serves have changed over time. Service is generally described as friendly, and the overall value is reasonable for a laid-back dinner.
A decent local option for takeaway or delivery in the Toowoomba region. Phone ahead during busy dinner service to keep wait times down.

A great local fish and chip shop. Good value with nice prices and friendly service and a fair quality end product. The chips were pretty good, the fish a little less so but easily a good choice for a lazy dinner. I was recommended this by a friend, and I would recommend to others as a simple, great value local fish and chip shop.
Service was quick (although I was there when it was quite) and they sell drinks and burgers as well. Would definitely recommend getting extra chips next time!
Great food and friendly service but the hamburger patties have been reduced in size. They now only cover half the bun. We have been regulars for a very long time and used to love the burgers but they are no longer worth the price. Very sad. I don’t want to go elsewhere but if this doesn’t change we will.
Utterly disappointed, phoned ahead and still had a long wait due to the fact I was not told of the reduced menu. The chips were cold, undercooked and tasteless, the beef “works” burger consisted of a handful of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato, 2 tiny pieces of beetroot, a slice of cheese and a patty that was a quarter of the size of the bun. Used to make the best burgers and chips and have really gone downhill where as the prices have gone up.
Ordered over $130 worth of fish and chips. Waited over an hour which I can forgive because it was Good Friday. However, upon arriving home found a piece of fish missing, the fish was oily and tasted dreadful. The whole family was unable to eat them. The chips were hard and dry, almost like eating a raw potato. Fish bites were all batter and very little fish. Overall a really bad experience and I will not be returning.
On 5/7/25 I order 15$ of chips, sadly we only got about five dollars worth. To top it off when I asked the cashier about the amount of chips for the price, in response I got I’ve finished cooking for night. In stead of try to rectify the problem I was just moved on. Absolutely horrible service.
Waited 10-15 mins while 1 person is serving on a Thursday night while other stores have multiple people working. She was too busy cleaning fryers and making other people orders until we said something about it and then some other lady got served before us and we were waiting longer prices are better at wyalla and fresher and have more people working in store never will return back here after that
My family and I came here on Saturday night for dinner and we loved it! The lady who served us was so nice and brought out more chairs for us cause we came in a big group 😁❤️ Will definitely come here again on our next trip to Toowoomba 🙂
Really good crumbed fish, cooked perfectly. I went in as a result of a google search and will be a favorite from now on.
