About
Upper Coomera Fish and Chips has built a strong reputation on the Gold Coast, with regulars firmly placing it among the best fish and chip shops in the region. The menu features quality fish prepared to a consistently high standard, with barramundi and snapper drawing particular praise. The batter is noted for being perfectly cooked, and the house-made tartare sauce is a genuine highlight that regulars recommend without hesitation.
The variety on offer includes some less common choices such as gurnard, which is a rarity at most suburban chippies. There are plenty of options for the whole family, and a dedicated kids’ menu means even the younger ones are well looked after. The shop is open for lunch and dinner, with dine-in and takeaway both available, as well as delivery for those who prefer to eat at home.
The venue itself is clean, welcoming, and easy to access, with outdoor seating, wheelchair-accessible entry, free on-site parking, and card payments accepted including tap-and-go. The friendly service is a recurring theme among those who visit, and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual, well suited to a quick solo lunch or a family dinner.
For anyone in the Upper Coomera area looking for a reliable fish and chip shop with real care put into the cooking, this one is worth adding to the list. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to get your order in early.

I can’t eat the majority of seafood, but there is one fish I can eat, and that’s the two finger fish GURNARD.
The last time I ate this was 10 years ago when I went home Blockhouse Bay Auckland Fish shop and had a big feed.
Finally, a shop in Brissy/GC actually has it 🙌 and I was not disappointed.
The batter on the fish is on point to back home crunchy thin not oily cooked to absolute perfection
Hubby was in heaven with that big fillet of Barra.
The kuki potato salad one delicious side dish.
The potato scallops were not my favourite and wouldn’t order again.
To have the crunchies in our serve of chips was like we were back in NZ .
Love the big picnic tables out the front, and the artwork on the walls makes it a great place to enjoy some great fish n chips.
I have found my fish n chip shop and new place to visit regularly
Yet again a perfectly cooked barramundi.
This place has never failed to deliver.
In my opinion the best fish and chips on the Gold Coast.
The tartar sauce is a must try.
Hats off to the cook.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY A KIWI!
First time visiting today for lunch. I’m usually really picky about fish and chips ever since my favourite closed down, but I have found my new place. 😍 Great service, good variety, my snapper was chefs kiss and the chips were cooked to perfection! 🤌 And then the battered Mars Bar.. oh my God. It should totally be offered as a sundae! Next time I visit, I’m smashing it through some ice cream. Thank you so much for a great experience. I will most certainly be back.
My son and I went here for dinner after work, lovely service, fresh food and there’s plenty of choices.
Oops! I bought a piece of crumbed barramundi and it wasn’t too bad, I could taste the oil/fat the chips were cooked in and to my surprise a little mozzie got cooked as well!
Best Fish N Chips in QLD! I love the kiwi hotdog reminds me of home. The chips are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, the fish is smothered in batter like other places and it is also crispy and the fish is not dry. You must try this place!
Great n fresh n yum. Omg, to die for and I tell ya. Be warned. You eat from here once and you lock, stock n barrel. Then made
