About
Victoria Point Kiosk Rock ‘n’ Roll Cafe sits near the ferry terminal at Victoria Point, drawing steady foot traffic from locals and visitors alike. The fish and chip shop is open seven days for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all on offer. Outdoor seating overlooks the bay, and the spot is family friendly with a kids’ menu, wheelchair access, and free parking nearby.
The menu covers a solid range of classics, including cod, calamari rings, dim sims, and potato scallops, alongside large and small chip serves. The Family No. 1 meal is the signature draw. Regulars also speak warmly of the crumbed and battered fish options, with the battered snapper noted for its generous coating. Grilled barramundi and pineapple fritters have their fans too, and the chips are frequently described as hot and crunchy when freshly cooked.
Feedback on the cafe is mixed overall, with some regulars noting inconsistency in service times and recent changes to quality. On the positive side, staff are often praised for being polite and composed under pressure, particularly during busy periods with high online order volumes. The casual, relaxed atmosphere, with birds dropping by and a view over the water, adds to the appeal for those happy to sit and enjoy a meal at a leisurely pace.
Worth a visit if you’re in the Victoria Point area and after a casual fish-and-chips meal by the water. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to avoid delays.

Nothing better than hot chips and a cool drink by the water! Enjoyed the breeze, sat inside, watched people and birds visiting the cafe for lunch, absolutely lovely little spot.
The veggie burger was super tasty. A potato croquette style patty with peas, corn and carrot pieces, super lightly crumbed for a perfectly crisp bite!
My partner for lunch got the hamburger and confirmed a tasty patty with equally fresh lettuce, tomato slices and beetroot (from the veggie burger haha).
Lovely little Cafe. Can definitely recommend the bacon and egg burger and the ice cream. It was well worth the money.
We both ordered the fish, chips and salad meal – crumbed cod for husband and battered snapper for me. The young man double-checked our order thoroughly. The battered snapper had a good batter coating which was appreciated (often the batter doesn’t stick but this one was done well). The snapper fish fillet was a good size and the flesh was perfect. The chips were crunchy and complemented the fish well. A half point off their salad however, as the greens were lack lustre but the sliced tomato had flavour and the onion slices were just the right amount, the lemon wedge was juicy and there was ample (tartare?) sauce for the fish.
We dined in at the cafe and there was an oversight of no cutlery but to the credit of the young staff member, he brought to our table a metal knife and fork (way better than plastic) with a smile and sincere sounding apology. (Not common in the young ones these days!). We caught the last of the water views as the sun set and both thought the seats were more comfortable than most other cafes of this type. It is a tad run down and lacking in attractive decor but we will revisit another time.
The 2 young men working tonight were very polite, friendly, great phone manner. Under stress with online orders not working but kept calm and professional.
One downer you forgot my pineapple fritter 🥲
We visited at a time when there was only one member of staff, so it’s unfair to judge how the speed of service would be at another time. It’s situated in a great spot, so there’s plenty of footfall customers.
All I ordered was a small hot chips to take away as I am on my break, more than 23 mins and I’m still waiting. It’s just chips for crying out loud. Not like the place is busy. Won’t be coming back here again.
The grilled and crumbed Barramundi were cooked perfectly and really yummy
Chips were crunchy and hot, fantastic. Pineapple fritters were great too!
Absolutely terrible. Shared a snack pack $37 within moments after eating. Vomited in the park next door. Mentioned to staff and given “sorry”. 2nd time here. Very over priced. Gaining on the location to the ferry.
