About
Zillmere Seafoods is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Zillmere, on Brisbane’s northside, and it has built a loyal following around fresh food, generous portions, and genuinely friendly service. The crumbed barramundi is the signature dish, and regulars return for it regularly, describing the fish as light, fresh, and cooked well. Potato scallops also draw strong praise, with many locals rating them among the best they’ve had. Cod features too, with portions noted as consistently generous.
Beyond the seafood staples, the menu extends to battered chicken and burgers, making it a solid option for families with varied tastes. The shop is family-friendly and takeaway-focused, with a tight and efficient operation that keeps things moving. Staff are described as warm and welcoming, which adds to the appeal for regulars who have been visiting for years.
Chips receive a mostly positive response, though feedback has occasionally noted inconsistency. Order during busier periods when turnover is higher for more reliable results. Pricing is considered reasonable and affordable by most who visit, which keeps Zillmere Seafoods a popular choice for both lunch and dinner on the north side of Brisbane.
Note that the shop closes at 7:30pm, so planning ahead for a dinner visit is a good idea. Phone ahead during the evening rush to avoid a wait.

This place has consistently great food. They make an awesome burger, and they have (hands down) the BEST potato scallops. They also do this amazing battered chicken that is just delicious. Our family have been going here for years, and the quality is great, as are the prices.
Zillmere Seafoods has the best Battered Barramundi and Potato Scallops I have had in a long time, I always make a detour to get lunch from here, seriously the fish just melts in your mouth.
Make the best Hamburg’s ever yummy chips nice food
Terrible place to order your food. No value for price. $6 worth of chips should be a lot more than this. Very soggy as well. Never again
The little Vietnamese lady here is an absolute doll.
The Vietnamese gentleman is also great.
The portions of cod and size of potato scallops are generous and delicious.
I just wish they’d open a little later in the day so that they can stay open past 7:30pm at night.
Many times I’ve wanted to get fish and chips from my area for dinner and it’s too late by the time I get there.
Some tables and chairs outside would be great.
Absolutely one of the best fish and chips shops on the North side of Brisbane. Food is always so delicious, fresh , presented well and very reasonably priced.
The staff are super friendly, highly recommended if seeking a great meal for a price that won’t break the bank.
Thanks Zillmere Seafoods
Great asset to Zillmere
First time having Fish n Chips here. Thought the prices were cheap on Google turns out they have not updated the menu online in years. Was hoping my local was as good as the ratings. We ordered Battered Savs, Chips and Cheese Burger. Firstly they don’t serve Battered Savs they serve Pluto Pups on Stick. One has a thick heavy batter with a stick the other is Sav dipped in a batter hence Battered Sav, very different. The Chips were under cooked very greasy and so little chicken salt. The Cheese Burger meat tasted like a rissole with some sauce. I would highly recommend the owners check out other Fish N Chips shops Trawler Seafoods might be a good place to start. My daughter who ears everything gave me back the Cheese Burger and didn’t eat her Chips.
Best fish and chips I’ve had in years.
