If you’re looking for a quick, healthy snack, then this is a great option for an empty stomach! The premises is spotless and clean. The food is cooked fresh and the oil is changed regularly. It makes all the difference. The staff are always friendly and efficient. Worth a visit……you won’t be disappointed!
Truly the best fish and chips down Brighton/Hove way. Chips cooked and seasoned to perfection, and my butterfish had a perfect crunch too. Only one person working but he did a great job and we didn’t wait long at all. Need to bring more people here so they can relocate closer to the beach!! – How are there no good fish and chip spots by Brighton beach?! However, this place is definitely worth the drive (3 mins from the beach), don’t spend your money elsewhere.
I have no idea how some people have said this place is the best fish and chips they’ve ever had or that “you won’t be disappointed”. Never been more disappointed or had worse fish and chips in my life. I bought a piece of flake so not even the cheapest option on the menu and received the smallest, thinnest, crunchiest, most driest, overcooked piece of fish….. I’ve never had fish so terrible I couldn’t even eat it. Very disappointing!
New owners, been here a few times. They seem to know what they are doing, was a quiet night as not many orders. My food ordered was, chicken + chips with a fish cake and dimsim.
Tasty and hot. Service was quick and place is clean. Would recommend giving them a try.
Bought chips and gravy. Was a flavourless soggy mess. Chips swimming in gravy that didn’t taste like anything. Chips also had no flavour- I don’t think they even put salt on them.
Service was friendly and prompt. Food was delicious. Pop on in if your nearby. Very busy little place, which speaks for itself.
Has there been a change of hands or something? What used to be really great classic chips (yellow, crispy, perfect Australian takeaway chippies) are now skinny, undercooked and bland. Gravy was thin and had no flavour. Chicken nuggets are the cheapest worst type of nugget out there. Used to be my local and now won’t be going back anytime soon… bit of a shame
Ordered single serve battered butterfish and chips. Serve size was generous and both fish and chips were fresh and crispy.
Only downside was service. No acknowledgement on entry to the store…both assistants were conversing…when I was served there was no pleasant interaction…not even a smile.
Good service can determine how successful a business is! Happy to recommend for the food and maybe next time there’ll be a smile to go with it.
